Huck Seed's $600K royal

I took another look at the photo today and found it curious the machine
awarded fractional credits. I went back and looked at both of my progressive
royal hits and it did appear to round up to the nearest credit, which is how
I thought machines worked. I also always thought awarding fractional credits
was a huge no-no.

Am I being overly suspicious or does this seem weird to anyone else? The
only thing I can think of is that there is some sort of exception because
the denom is so large (specifically, carrying out a fraction to 3 decimal
places still awards an actual dollar amount that can be paid, which isn't
true at micro-denoms).

Here's a picture in case you didn't see it

I don't think this is uncommon especially on the newer-type machines
they have at Aria. Regardless, when they pay you, they round up to
the coin denomination.

Anyone know if this was, in fact, hit at Aria? I don't recall seeing a $100 Progressive anywhere but I haven't been to Aria recently. Since the top poker pros seem to favor Aria over Bellagio now it wouldn't surprise me if that is where Huck was.

Odds are pretty good that it was. I stopped in there a couple days ago and the prog was down to $400027 (resets at $400000). By the way, it is in the raised area of the high limit room.

I asked a friend who works at the Aria to ask a floorperson whom she knows and she said he didn't know about it. I'd guess it was hit at the Bellagio.

According to this, it was hit at Aria:

It was also on Aria's Facebook page.

This royal was hit very recently--during all the discussions here about the M progressives and about the elimination of FPDW & other +EV machines at the Palms.

So if the play was worth about $3/hand, then why were't people talking about and descending upon such a huge hourly-earner before THAT one gets removed or lowered? If the bankroll issue comes up, we've already seen where the bankroll even for quarter players at the M was way too high for most but they still played them. I'm not sure why the high-rollers here just let some high-stakes poker player scoop up this .65%+++ jackpot right before their eyes.

Perhaps it did hit at the Aria but when I was in LV a couple weeks ago, the $100 progressive at the Bellagio coincidentally was also at about $670k.

Wow, so he knew so little about vp that he had to read up on it to see if the prog was positive, then proceeds to hit it after less than 6 hours (probably less than 5000 hands)...and he was only in $50k when he hit it. I wonder if he has any idea how "lucky" he was.

Rob.... your comedic skills are slipping. I got a lot more laughs from your Gaming Today articles.

Because if someone knew about it and had the bankroll to play it, they would have been busy trying to hit it. And I don't know anyone with the knowledge and bankroll to try it that would decide to tell everyone in a public forum to get the word out so that they have more competiton.

If the bankroll issue comes up, we've already seen where the bankroll even for quarter players at the M was way too high for most but they still played them.

While a lot of people play above their bankroll, a lot don't realize that they are. Most people are readily aware that they don't have the bankroll for a $100 machine, but think they have the bankroll for a quarter machine even if they don't.

I'm not sure why the high-rollers here just let some high-stakes poker player scoop up this .65%+++ jackpot right before their eyes.

I'm guessing they didn't all have a meeting and decide to "just let some high-stakes poker player scoop" it up. Odds are better that most weren't aware of it. Aria had backed off quite a few high-rollers and took away the player's club account of some others after a promo that gave .77% back in freeplay (and about another .073% in holiday gift point freeplay) with the added equity of a pretty substantial drawing city-wide. Not bad considering you could play 9/6 jacks for up to $1250 a hand if you wanted.

heads-up on the photo link. I clicked on the photo of the poker joint and it had a virus. Computer started to do a "virus scan" but it wasn't my microsoft security essentials. Shut off my computer before it got to registry.
Yea, the sign on the joint was intriguing.
