HS VP

I went last Thursday and checked several Vp machines. The 3-5 line
machines on the main floor have some 9-6 JOB. Of the ten machines I
checked 5 had the better payout. These are 25/50 cent machines that
can be played up to 75 coins. I did not find any other machine with
better payouts.

If you are a dollar player, I found several 9-6 JOB at Samstown. On
the 3rd floor the last bank of machines to the right..

May your next trip be winner.

Hey Larry1311, or should I call you Mr."Gamblevp"...Ha!
By main floor?, ... you mean the first deck Matey? Sam's town sucks!,
JMO ( Just my opinion) Hey , everyone has one ya know.

"Of the ten machines I checked 5 had the better payout." You mean:
5 had 9/6 JB and 5 did not?
Also, by main floor you mean " Main Deck or the Second Deck?", I
guessed you meant Secound Deck where you enter?

James it is the deck where you enter, 2nd floor. Yes part of the machines have 9/6 JOB and part have 8/5 make sure you check before playing. I didt't find any good payout for ducks which my wife really likes.
Where do you like to play and why? I guess it's hard to change what you get used to. We like the HS rooms and I enjoy the health club (free to diamond members). We eat the buffet at Sam's Town. We play a little of the 9/6 JOB there and have been getting two free buffets every month.
I played and did ok. No big payouts, racked up 1200 tier points to start 2009.
. The guy playing one of the machines was playing 5 line JOB and hit a royal on one line playing 75 credits at the 50 cent level. The next day he was playing the machine I was playing and hit other royal same payout. $6000. If you can play that kind of coin I guess you need to get lucky sometime.

No we didn't find NSU deuces any where at HS! You can still find it
at the Eldorado... well as of Dec. 2008 you could. Quarter 5 play and
$1 single line and multi plays.

To continue my report:
The 10 single line slant tops on the first deck as you enter have had
some changes too. The five machine closest to the Monopoly games have
had Keno added ( bummer) and they are now .25/.50/1.00 games with
6/5;75;and 8/5 JB; respectively. Bonus poker is at 1.00 7/5 and 8/5
check the machine?, and DW is at $1 10/12 and 15/9 ... in other words
Dismal!
The 5 machine on the other side seem to be as they were? But, still
no good DW? and only at the $1 level. (9/6 JB; 12/10 DW; 8/5 BP; 9/7
DB; and DD Bonus 1/1/3/4/6/9/50/80/160/160/400/50/250

Well,... I like to play where I can find games with at the very
least 99 % plus theorical return. I was playing at the Hollywood and
enjoyed it there till Boyd Gaming got the hands on the place? I liked
the 10 play quarter Super Ace a lot. But, then it changed hands and
gone were all the Super Ace 8/5/4 games!
I like the EL's spa better because of the Hot Tub and like the Old
Harrah's Hotel ( Sam's Town ) more because of the pool and William B
Steak house. But, since they gutted all their VP we stopped playing
there. Now they have a few 9/6 JB games at $1 but nothing else. So,
not worth the effort to go there. We can't afford to spend our meger
budget on more than one property at a time?

Dinner time, I'll finish later.....

Hey Larry!

I guess it can be? We use to play at the Eldorado ( well really we
use to play at the Hollywood ) but after Boyd Gaming got their hands
on the place it got gutted VP wise and we only started to look for
another home base after they too cut the 50/100 Plays. When the pay
tables drop below 99 percent ( and I kind of mean below 99. 5--%) I
don't want to play anymore. If I can't get a break even play, with
all the extra add ins, it don't be enjoyable anymore! Such Language?
Consider... we don't always need or use a free room so that add on
isn't always a comp consideration for our over all return?

I like the El' better than the 'Shoe because it seems larger... more
open? And to me... less Smokey! Their room are as good as
the 'Shoes' and they have a Hot Tub in there Spa area. I use to
love the old Harrah's hotel ( Sam Town ) because of the pool and
William B Steak House. If you eat at William's let me know if Henry
is still waiting tables there? He was great at his job and we both
enjoyed his style of service. Haven't been there in a long time.

The President level, at the El', has 1/3 of 1 percent cash back so
that would help to keep me there with all else being equal?? Plus,
they are the only ones to give us free tickets to the Century Tel
Center for a show! The only way I'd consider playing at Sam's is on
some of the Multipoint day offers. Trouble is, they run only for a
hours in the morn and in the evening?

It is tough on a Retirement Income to play at more than one place?
We'd inevitably spread our play too thin and not have the upper level
Player's cards at any one location. Concentrating all our play give
us better comps and adds that much more to the bottom line for the
year. Oh sure we, from time to time check out the others just to be
sure there wasn't something better? That what made us move to
the 'Shoe.

I stick to full pay Jacks with excursions into other games like: NSU
Deuces ( don't like Deuces to much and the variance in tough), 8/5
Bonus Poker ( return is a little low), 9/6 Bonus Deluxe and a little
DD bonus when I am up or feeling a little Gamb-ly? And some others?

We use to play at Boomtown, be they gutted their VP and we quit. The
Old Isle of Capri was so old and dirty with no good VP, we don't go
there, but will check it from time to time.. see above. The Downs was
a favorite till they removed the VP altogether!

There you have it? Hope I didn't bore you or any of the others!??

James: I enjoyed your post and have somewhat similar experiences.
We have been going to Shreve for 12-13 years and, in the Jack Binion
days, frequented the Horseshoe exclusively. Once Harrahs took over,
we started shopping and now we use the Eldorado as our "home"
casino. We play at the dollar level, usually just JOB and we never
have a problem at the El. Since they really look at cumulative
results (not ADT) we do not have a problem with getting excellent
comps - virtually to all of their events. Our coin in there at the
El was about $400 K. Their CB is .25% and their mailers work out to
a similar amount, so on a cash basis it is a push. The Shoe has much
better mailers, but it is always a hodgepodge for various
incentives. What gets me is the stupid ADT. We now kind of
circumvent it by using my wifes one day and mine the next for an
overnight trip. By the way, we live in the Dallas metroplex. We
find the comps, treatment and service far superior at the El vs. HS.
They had a New Years Eve dinner and next day brunch that was simply
outstanding. We keep up play at the Shoe to keep one card at Diamond
and try to game it so we get better offers. WE now usually get their
concert offers. Quite frankly, overall they present a good
entertainment value. Just my input. Take care and may the spirits
of the RF be with you.

James: I am President level (for past 2-3 years) and have never gotten
more than .25% cash back ($5 for 100 points. $20 in video poker per
point). They also send bounce back every other month but it is hard to
determine specifically the percent. The mailer has coupon for first
half of month and then another of similar value for the second half
with an open day in between the two halves. Therefore to redeem both
on one trip, it takes 3 physical days. We often do that. Also, we
always get a coupon for the Vintage and, at the President level, you
can present the card at the buffet and get 2 meals at anytime - just
swipe and sign. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Well, that could be? I am not sure when we switched.... could have
2006-2007??? I was Pres. level and know what you're saying! But, last
I played on my Pres. Card it was $7.50 for 100 points? I wonder when

I guess you started just about the time we moved. Just after they
reduced the 50/100 plays on the third deck.
