How to Jump Start a Bankroll the Mickey Crimm Way

The Wizard of Odds says Bovada has 100.05% video poker. Here's why he

How does one learn how to play video poker online?
What does it mean that Bovada has 100.05% video poker?

If you mean learning to play video poker at an online CASINO, I don't
know of any such casinos, but there are several kinds of tutoring
software available to download. Most cost a few dollars.

100.05% video poker means that ON AVERAGE the games will return
100.05% of monies wagered.

In this case, I think it applies only to Joker Poker. I did check the game return for the following paytable:
Seq. RF = 20000 (cycle = 2.25M)
RF = 4000
5OAK = 750
WRF = 400
SF = 250
4OAK = 100
FH = 35
FL = 25
ST = 15
3OAK = 10
2PR = 5
KoB = 5
FVP gave a return of 100.12% with the Sequential RF counting for 0.18% of that return. Can anyone explain the difference between the 100.12% and the 100.05%?

1. Would I be able to find a reputable online casino in which to play video poker? I take it Bovada is one.
2. Are the advantages in online video poker as good as those in brick & mortar?
3. Also, is there free play while learning?

100.05% Video Poker DOES NOT mean that ON AVERAGE the games will return 100.05% of monies wagered. It will return 100.05% WITH PERFECT PLAY. On average, they return MUCH LESS because most people can't play perfectly. Also, playing online with real money WHILE LEARNING TO PLAY is an absolutely IDIOTIC idea.

With online casinos there should be no learning curve. Every hand can be played perfectly using video poker training programs like Winpoker. For this reason the games won't last long so torch them while you can. (Of course play with a sufficient bankroll, which must be HUGE for a game with such a small advantage.). This is the reason I am glad use of electronic devices is not allowed in Nevada casinos, but some video poker experts disagree.

You've pretty much missed the best of online video poker, especially if you're an American, but even if you're not. Trust me, in the early 2000s, they were THROWING money at you. After a few years, some of them, most of them, smartened up. But it's coming back, I hope. It will never be the Wild West of 2001 again, but there will be opportunities when it breaks open in the United States, legal and regulated. I can't wait!

There are still some lucrative choices out there, but as an American it's a hassle.

100.05% video poker will return 100.05% with perfect play, IF you live long enough.

What about playing slightly breakeven or positive games with a drawing of some sort? It could be a mega-boost to your bankroll to win $5000 or a car. It shouldn't be your entire play but gives you a long shot.

I would pick my shots very carefully. I'm not real fond of playing for longshots especially on short money. Let's say I've committed to putting so much money per paycheck into a video poker savings account. I now have implied bankroll. I can't play full time on implied bankroll....but I can play part time.

Let's say I'm up to $1000 in savings. Brand X Casino has NSUD and a $10,000 wager gets $100 in freeplay. I'm gonna fire on the play. I might hit the deuces once or even twice or more. If I don't hit the deuces or the royal the play will probably wipe out most of the $1000. A player with adequate bankroll would just pull out more money and keep playing. A player with implied bankroll would have to wait a few paychecks before firing again. The only difference between a player with adequate bankroll and a player with implied bankroll is time.

Repeating the process over and over again on strong short term plays will eventually get the implied bankroll player through the window. He/she just has to keep sticking that paycheck money into whatever cash bankroll he/she has.

The one thing the adequately bankrolled player and the implied bankroll player have in common is "the recurring sum of net edge times volume equals the earn."
