Makes one wonder if these market experts writing for the Casino have any
respect for gamblers? Do they think we'll buy such nonesence--or are they about to
make it more difficult to check into their establishment?

Actually, no it isn't. The one thing on the list you provided that is
worth something is you get to use the Diamond check in. Usually (not
always) the lines there are much shorter than the lines for non-VIPs.
And if you have some sort of special request, the attendants working
this check in line are usually more empowered to help you than "normal"
attendants.

I'd like to offer a counterpoint. While the diamond lines are often shorter, unless they are non-existent or the regular lines are really long, I've found that you often get faster service in the regular lines. The people in the diamond lines tend to be fussier, have more complications, requests and complaints and generally take a fair amount of time to deal with. Unless you need something special yourself, it may at times be better to use one of the regular lines. Occasionally I've also received better treatment in the regular lines than I would in the diamond line at some Harrah's properties.

I find this is also and especially true at the Total Rewards desks.
