It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that the Texas/Sunset
bounceback promo adds a cool 1% to your VP return on action up to
$5000 per day. The kicker, however, is that Stations will
EXCLUDE "certain VP games" from the promo. My wild guess (and gee,
I'm going waaay out on a limb here) is that whatever FPDW and FPDB
still exist (and since I haven't been in either place in the last
two hours, I have no idea how many are left) will be excluded from
the promotion. That said, even 9/6 DDB, not to mention 9/6 JOB, and
a host of other marginal games would be pushed into positive
territory; playing on a mailer 3X day would get you .5% comps
(regular points x3), 1% cashback (from the promo), plus mailed
bounceback which consensus seems to indicate is about .3%. I intend
to go down there and see what the story is; this COULD be a very
solid play.
Spent some time at the Fiesta Henderson last night. There are two
banks with Bob Dancer's smiling face adorning them, a la Fiesta
Ratso. The funny thing is, most of the games are below 100% (stuff
like 9/6 DDB and 9/6 JOB, and NSUD), but there is one glaring
exception: 4000/20/7 Joker! And the denoms on the bank near the
cashier are up to .50---hooray! I walked right up, put in a
Franklin, and with Bob's smiling face beaming down benevolently on
me I perhaps could not help but get four quads in 15 minutes and
cashed out $200 ahead. There are several things to note: the .25
FPDW inventory has actually INCREASED (no need to list locations
since I think this casino moves machines around late at night when
they get bored); there are still decent games for the nickel player
(rarity: a bank of 10/7 ten-coin .05 FPDB); and HERE'S a real
stretch: the FPDW tallboys near the security podium have been slimed
down to 10/8 Triple Pay Deuces (99.92%), but the sign overhead still
blares "100% Payback!!!". Well, upon further examination, it becomes
clear that there is a tiny little progressive meter on the royal,
the addition from which presumably is 0.08% or better. Well....
The real play at Fiesta Henderson is to link your account with
Stations Boarding Pass, then play at Fiesta on 5X point days. This
will result in .83% comps that are usable at any Stations, although
it should be noted that any retail outlet not owned directly by
Stations, the base point redemption rate = 0.1% so you are only
getting .5% comps with the conversion (for instance, movie tickets).
Palms continues to be the hot play in town with strong bounceback
coupled with a good slot club and the best VP inventory remaining in
town.
