We stayed at the Lady Luck downtown and heres how we did. My wife
and I played on the same card 11,856 hands of JOB, the best game
available there except for maybe NSUD which I dont know how to play.
I played approximately 8000 of those and lost $290.00 and my wife
lost about $60.00 for the rest of the play. The $14820.00 of play
got us $26.00 cash back and $144.00 in comps which covered the total
bill of $143.00 for 3 nights room and 2 coffeeshop meals. The rooms
were OK but the food was
lousy.
Made 2 side trips to the El Cortez and the
Rampart At the Rampart I lost $110.00 while my wife
lost $20.00 to get a nice logo jacket and 2 great buffets. I lost
about half on Cash King Checkers and the other half on 10 play
nickle JOB. The Rampart is a topnotch place with great promotions
and if I lived in Las Vegas they would get a lot of my
play.
At the El Cortez played 525 hands of dime multistrike JOB and won
back the $110 I lost at the Rampart. I hope this was enough action
to get some offers becouse as we were leaving Roberta's I noticed
that the bar had Guinness, Bass, Sierra Nevada and I think Fosters
on tap. I also saw a black & Tan spoon hanging. I am not sure if a 2
block walk through urban blight is worth the fine beer selection.
Anyway thats how our trip went.
How my bankroll held up on a 3 day tripto Las Vegas.
Got to respond here. Some nice small stores for small electronics;
watch repair; food; & misc along Fremont from LV Blvs to El Cortez.
Hardly something to frown on. Past EL C is the issue. When they get
torn down for more empty (See Neonopolis) night clubs & other
foolishness (but no super market which is what's needed) it will be
cause for regret for locals though tourists may rejoice. Maybe all the
rich new downtowners-to-be at the Streamline will be happy...doubt it.
