How Many people are DONE with Majestic?

After the ridiculously short-sighted attempt to raise revenues off the backs of VP players, how many of you are likely to take your business elsewhere? After coming at least 4 times a month for over 10 years, I know I am. I really got a contrast when I went to the Peppermill in Reno last time, great food, great comps, first class comped Whirlpool Suite, and they sent me an all expenses paid 3 day weekend (including private jet) to play their Wendover, NV properties. Both Reno and Wendover have tons of full pay .25 machines, and the properties are fabulous, compared with the DUMP I've put up with all this time, just to play FP VP. I'm over this management, and I'm voting with my feet.

I agree, put with the poor atmosphere for long time. Without good VP no more reason to go there. If they would bering back good VP would consider. For majestic star- another access player down the drain. Might go back 1 more time drain cashback and steakhouse.

I stopped going to the majestic after getting tired of dealing with obnoxious people (the help), dirty conditions and still more obnoxious people. Eliminating decent VP only confirmed my decision.

I only made it there about 3 times a month, I enjoyed playing where you felt like you had a chance. I haven't been back even once since the started there pay table reductions.
Not really sure where to play now?

Anyone know which area casino would offer the best games and comps?

Not sure if they (Majestic Star) are done with pay table burning yet! As of
yesterday, the Majestic Star 2 still has about a dozen machines with 99.45%
or better games at various levels (25c/50c/$1/$5) for single line only. The
only other house in the Chicago Area that has 99%+ for 25c is Four Winds
(very few 9-7 DB-99.11%). Decent $1 plays available at several Chicago area
houses (Grand Victoria, Harrah's Joliet, Horseshoe and Ameristar) The MS
buffet seems to be getting worse (Hard to believe that is possible as it
already was the worst in the area.). Also seems like "promo cash" (free
play) is worse than prior months.

Table game rules at the Majestic Star have also gone downhill as well (Hit
soft 17 at BJ, FL now 3-1 on pair plus 3 card poker bet, Lucky Ladies BJ
side bet, 3 card poker BJ side bet on 2 deck tables; etc.) though dealer
hitting soft 17 at BJ is now very common in the area and Grand Victoria has
introduced the 6-5 on BJ rule on low limit games.

I do not think this combination still exists but the Ameristar had a card
level multiplier for their top cards, 3x on top card and 2x on their next
best card. These could be combined with "Mystery points" on Friday through
Sunday for 9x, 12x or 15x for a top level player. The base was 1/16% so even
9x was .5625%. The only playable games there are Fifty Play $1 9-6 Jacks and
$1 single line 9-6DDB with five progressives (RF, quad As+low, quads As,
quad 2-4+low, quad 2-4).

I am not holding out hope that when the Des Plaines, IL (I live in Des
Plaines 10 minutes from the new casino.) opens that they will have good
video poker.

Overall, I suspect I will be playing more golf and less video poker!! (Do
not know what I will do in the winter as our weather is not very good for
golf!!!)

Well, they have started to replace the carpeting in the walkways from the boats to the parking facility. Overheard many complain they would rather have them loosen up the machines and keep the old carpet! I agree.

I was at MS on Saturday 8/7. Every employee I encountered was hostile, unhelpful and generally unpleasant. My guess is that MS is treating their employees like junk and it is trickling down.

The casino had a feeling of impending doom. I don't think they will be around much longer. Four Winds was much busier at 9 AM on Saturday than MS was at 4 PM on Saturday and MS was having a couple of pretty big promotions.

After reading 10 emails on the topic, I have to wonder why people even go to the MS?

The horseshoe has full pay JOBs and it's way nicer. They also have even better machines.
