how many hands in the long run.

As promised, I've revised the "long term" FAQ entry:

···

********************

10. What is the long term? - It is when you have played enough hands
that actual results equal or approach expected results. Tom Ski
calculates (with a 95% confidence factor) that the actual ER for 10/7
DB should be within 1% of expected ER after 1,085,465 hands, and within
0.1% after 108,546,482 hands.

There is no such thing as the 'long-run'. If there were then I wouldn't exist.

Really? Your very existence is tied in some meta-physical way to
whether or not 'long-run' exists?

Remarkable!

That must be like the time Decartes (famous for saying "I think, therefore
I am") was in a pub and was asked "would you like another drink?"
He replied "I think not" and disappeared.

"I think, therefore I thwim"

Take a "long run" on a short pier and see what happens

Steve, to better understand this poster's surprising comment, I would
refer you to "Lucky Ned's Incredi-Systems" on cheapolasvegas, where
similar notions are presented, but in a much funnier format. Don't
have the link, but maybe someone will post it.

Lucky Ned's secrets are revealed at http://www.bigempire.com/vegas/luckyned.html
My favorite is his keno strategy, especially the line: "The more numbers there are in a game of luck, THE MORE WAYS THERE ARE TO WIN!!"

The whole Big Empire site is a hysterical, especially the numerous Vegas-related pages. And no, Lucky Ned is NOT a take-off on Rob Singer. Lucky Ned's writings pre-date his by several years.
