Although I sent a "quick" reply with an IRS link, I decided to add a couple more after doing a GOOGLE search of the words: "how long to keep tax records".
As a volunteer tax preparer, I'd also like to add the comment (as I ofter do during tax season) that the question may be simple, but the answers rarely are:
