How Does One Find Great Plays

I think you answered your own question(s), but let me add a few thoughts:

I read about people finding great plays in casinos.

Many of the "plays" you read about involve more than a paytable.?

Do they usually just stumble upon them? I think not. I was out of state recently and walked

into an Indian casino and started checking out the videopoker pay tables. I only spot checked

but I could see that to check every video poker game (on multiple games per machine) and

every denomination would be a huge task.

Yup.? Takes alot of work most of the time.? Occasionally, I'll "stumble" on something good.

Those who do sniff them out probably do not want to share their technique if they have a

short cut or do they just slog through the whole inventory?

What short cuts do you think exist ?? Telepathy ?? See next comment.? And yes, not everything is shared.

Of course, in an Indian casino it was an easy decision after seeing 7/5 JOB to quit looking.

BTW, these machines were getting heavy play.

In Caesar's Atlantic City they have 6/5 JOB on the second floor casino (with people playing them).? Just
a few steps to the escalator and down one floor, there is a row of slant-top 9/6 JOB (with people playing
them).? Indian casinos (like Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods) are no different.? You need to look around on
every trip,? Use the VPFree data base as a guide (but not as a bible).? Some casinos will alternate FP
machines with short pay, on the same bank of machines.? Some machines will advertise a different game
than it actually contains (Borgata AC has a lot of this).

And on and on ...
