I've used the hotel shuttles often. They're terrific. Almost always on schedule, courteous drivers, efficient and quick.
Be careful though - despite what you were told, I'm pretty sure Harrah's is one of the few that runs every hour. Most are every 30 minutes.

yes the shuttles are great , but I always seem to miss them by 1 minute.
Heck its only $15 downtown, and never more than 1 minute for a cab
