Hosts...

It depends upon the casino where you are playing. But most casinos -- even lower tier ones -- are looking for a minimum of $10,000 per day.

If you tell us the casino, then we could be more helpful.

That's "interesting", because I've been advised(by multiple
people in multiple groups/e-mails) to go ahead and get myself
a host(at least at the casino I concentrate most of my play
at - to get better comps than spreading it around more evenly,
maybe not at every casino I drop a quarter in, lol), and the
day I drop even $1K in any casino is - most definitely - the
rarest of rare exceptions for me, certainly nothing even
remotely approaching a "regular occurance", nor is it
anywhere near to becoming that anytime soon.

It seems that the reasoning(of those who've given me this
advice, sometimes with specific host recommendations and/or
character sketches, sometimes not) goes that ANYone at ANY
level of play will do better, compwise, with a host than
without one. Plus, I also figure that - even if they turn you
down, it not only "can't hurt to ask", it's also FREE, right?.

I played Caesars about a total of 1 hour last year. Just got offer for
7 inch DVD player. Also got a $100 food coupon and room offer for my
birthday; I'll be cashing both food and DVD late Sept and early Oct.
The rooms I might take them up on also. Got to read the offer on the
food offer and see if I have to get rooms to cash food. I have played a
lot in the past at LVH when was a sister casino to Caesars. Never had a
host at Caesars.

I think the only thing you can be sure of is you can't figure them out.
I haven't played at Mirage for 5 years and still get good offers. I
still stop by though and play a $20 sometime.

Cheers.....Jeep
