Will someone recommend a host at the Sheraton.
Per the website reservations even my 7-star wife can not get a comped
room.
Thanks

Not possible to recommend a host at Sheraton TUN because they no longer
employ any.
Also keep in mind the theoreticals are laughable on virtually all VP at
Sheraton TUN (as well as all HET TUN properties) so they might actually
be doing you a favor by forcing you to a competitor because of the room
problem. The Casino Center area is essentially a complete waste of
time for sharp players unless blackjack is your game.

How bad is laughable ?
Perhaps the Fritz would comp a room based on my SuoerStar status at the Majestic Star in Chicago
Anyone done this ?
Thanks

I believe the fullpay bank that included APDW and SA was about 1%,
maybe slightly under that number.

The Pitz rooms were recently remodeled so they're actually now graded
as "acceptable" from "back alley quality". Last time I ran some coin
through was in June (right before they downgraded the multi line SA).
I put through about 70K and recd a whopping total of 2x$30. With the
poor mail and the elimination of SA, the Pitz is also a waste of time.

food, hotel, cash back, you should play at the Sheraton. Otherwise,
if you are satisfied with 80% payback slots and getting "wiped" at
other casinos, but you want to know that the casino is comping you
for your losses, go elsewhere. It's a simple formula, and you can
calculate the risk / reward on your own, and determine if you want
the best odds in your gaming experience or if you want the best
comps.

I've been playing at Sam's Town ( 9/6 Jacks best game ) for quite a
while now. Sheraton's games are better, but the combination of $150
every two weeks in freeplay, comped into suites, and discretionary comps
from hosts,
On top of the .33% cash back for Chairmans club status has made Sam's my
choice.
They have recently moved to the Connection Card system which links Boyd
properties, and the rules have changed so now I get .5% in cash back OR
1% comps. Still get suites and freeplay...
So the choice isn't between the best theoretical game and 80% idiot
slots with good comps. It is always a delicate balance between Game
Return, Cash Back, Comps, Bounce Back Cash, Freebies like tournament
entries, Atmosphere, and Availability ( I like Sheraton and they are all
suites, but there aren't very many of them ).
Not busting the Sheraton here by the way. I love the Sheraton...
And NOTHING in Tunica is anywhere near the Gulf Coast...

If you want to play 9/6 JB poker in Tunica you should play at the
Sam's Town. I agree to that, but if you want a higher volatility
game with a chance of a jackpoint (4 aces with kicker, 2000
credits), you should play DDB at Sheraton. When I was in Las Vegas
and playing 10/7 double bonus poker at El Cortez, I was laughing at
the Jacks or Better players next to me, because if playing 10/7
double bonus poker with a Jacks or better strategy results in a
higher theoretical return than Jacks or Better by itself. Jacks or
Better is a fun game if you're in it for the long haul. Inky Dinky
125 four of kind payouts just don't do it for me. If you're going
to play a conservative style of game, I'd go for Blackjack, you'd
comp a lot more playing blackjack tables at Sam's Town than inky
dinky Jacks or Better. VP Free has the Tunica Casinos listed
under "gulf coast". Compared to Atlantic City and Vegas, Tunica
would be considered near gulf coast territory.

You just make my point...
Many factors are involved. You need to choose based on what floats your
boat. I also find Jacks or Better less fun than some other games, but it
is still fun and the combination of factors at Sam's has me there when I
am in Tunica at the moment. Been doing this a LONG time though and at
different times my base casino in Tunica has varied between:
Hollywood - 9/6 jacks ( first place we played there long ago )
Grand - 9/6 Jacks ( two young kids and they comped expensive Kids Quest
)
Gold Strike - NSU Deuces ( .5% CB and the Signature Card for their top
players meant RFB as well as access to other cool stuff like the skybox
at Grizzlies games )
Sheraton - 99.9% Triple Deuces, reasonable CB and I love the hot tub
suites
Fitzgeralds - Super Aces 50 play, good CB, good bounce back, but a DIVE
Again, it was always a combination of many factors that leads me to a
particular place... Which game does it for you is an important factor...
And my experience has been that playing Blackjack (or any table games)
doesn't get you anywhere near the comps (per $ risked) than playing
video poker. By a factor of magnitude. And at Sam's with .5% CB 9/6
jacks is positive, and that's before considering the $150 every two
weeks in freeplay.
Oh, and my dad is bigger than your dad, too!!!

I'd offer a reply but David has made the point without the need of
additional input. Thanks.
One reason you and anyone, may have trouble getting a room at the
Sheraton is that it is a small hotel with only about 200 rooms and is
very popular with supposedly the loosest/hottest slots and vp around.
So it is almost always sold out, even if you are a 7*, I believe that
the guaranteed room can be at any of the Tunica casinos, not the
specific one you would like. You can stay at the Horseshoe and play
at the Sheraton, it is only about 150 ft from door to door.

Would this count as two"trips" each day of play at the Sheraton and stay at the Horseshoe ?

Yes, two trips. Checking into a room opens a trip here.

I'm sorry to be late to the party, but thumb-typing is just a pain, so I
waited until I had some time and a keyboard.
The host situation at Sheraton changed dramatically recently. Of the 4 hosts
ever assigned to me or with whom I have worked, the first transferred to
Horseshoe over a year ago and was not replaced. She's still there as far as
I know. I was assigned to one of the other three, but they always said that
they shared the work and that I could come to any one of them. As I almost
never stay at Sheraton, I had little reason to talk to them. The one
assigned to me did put me into some events, and was always helpful.
In mid-August my host at Harrah's said (with some nervousness in his voice)
that all the hosts at Sheraton had been fired. At Sheraton I was told that
Bill, an older man, had retired. Whether that was under pressure or not is
an unanswered question. The other two women, Arneil and Janet, were fired
outright (not transferred) for "doing something bad". Arneil especially had
been there at LEAST five years, Janet several.
A while later, I was told that the cause was stealing cinnamon rolls from
the adjacent Cinnabon. Yeah, right! Can you believe that?
Anyway, the salient piece of info is that there is at least one new host at
Sheraton now. I don't have a name, and haven't met or seen this person, but
I'm told that there is one. I personally will simply use my national host
for any Sheraton business from here on out.
