I would like some info. on the Horseshoe Southern Indiana casino. We live about 60 miles south of Chicago. Is the database up to date? Are the hotel rooms clean? Are the restaurants and hotel staff nice? Any info. would be greatly appreciated. My husband would probably like to try out the nearby golf course or go into Louisville. Thanks in advance, Evelyn.

I would agree that the rooms are standard. The buffet is being remodeled with Paula Dean theme. There is a temporary buffet which site moves based on space available. The steakhouse is good. Legends, the bar/restaurant is OK. They have live entertainment on the weekends. There is also a band in the casino on the second floor on the weekends. Check their website because they now have an outdoor concert series now.
As far as gambling, we have had more luck at the penny slots than the higher denominations. I play JoB VP. They have full pay in some areas and 8/5 in others, so look around. I don't play poker, but they have that on the first floor.
I'm not a golfer, so can't comment on the golf. I know they had a PGA event at Valhalla in Louisville.

Rooms are nice enough. The buffet is definitely not up to par while it occupies temporary facilities (though I've had far worse in permanent facilities), but the other dining is excellent. Plus they have a Graeters Ice Cream shop - delicious!
VP: 9/6 Jacks scattered about. Best DW is 15/9, but there is a dollar progressive bank. Generally decent VP for Indiana.
If you like table games, you'll love this place.
