My take on this is that when you get up and leave a machine you should take everything with you that you want. Personally I don't feel that you should be able to tie up a machine indefinitely. When it's time for a bathroom break, take a break and let somebody else have a chance. If the machine is still available when you return...fine put some money in and keep on playing. I personally have never asked anybody to watch my machine while I took a break. In fact I'm surprised that the casino people will do that. Since it represents lost income to them...somebody else would be pumping money in but can't because you have posted a guard while you are away.
I know it's common practice....I just don't necessarily agree with it.
On this particular issue I feel the OP used exceptionally poor judgement in leaving $70 in cash just laying around for anybody to pick up who wanted it. Would he/she have done that at a crowded bar??
