Horseshoe refused to help me with machine credit theft

My take on this is that when you get up and leave a machine you should take everything with you that you want. Personally I don't feel that you should be able to tie up a machine indefinitely. When it's time for a bathroom break, take a break and let somebody else have a chance. If the machine is still available when you return...fine put some money in and keep on playing. I personally have never asked anybody to watch my machine while I took a break. In fact I'm surprised that the casino people will do that. Since it represents lost income to them...somebody else would be pumping money in but can't because you have posted a guard while you are away.

I know it's common practice....I just don't necessarily agree with it.

On this particular issue I feel the OP used exceptionally poor judgement in leaving $70 in cash just laying around for anybody to pick up who wanted it. Would he/she have done that at a crowded bar??

Cmon! for five minute's to run to the john, you can ask someone to watch your machine. I do it all the time and I watch other people's machine's for them for up to 15 minutes. But I alway's take my money with me unless my wife is there to watch it. If they dont come back, I tell someone else they can have it. Actualy, from what some peopel hear are saying, maybe I shouldnt trust my wife either. <g>
   What I really hate is the people in Atlantic City who shut down a good machine for hour's on end while they eat, go to a show, go to bed for the night or whatever. I think thats rude.

Hi Ned

You are mostly right. I did exactly that. A 5 min break. Left the
machine with my wife. She had a corner machine. Mine was next one in
row. Along comes a "casino" friend. Now my wife has her back turned
toward my machine. She never noticed the guy sit down, at my machine.
He pushed the cash out button. As she turned and looked, "what are
you doing" she asked. He got up and left fast. He wasn't able to
collect ticket because of how I left machine. When I leave machine I
draw untill I get a small pair or something else that dosn't have a
royal possible. Therefore, if someone hits a button by mistake I
don't have to deal with a one coin royal etc. This thief pushed cash
button and couldn't collect ticket. this saved me from losing $$.
Otherwise, I'm sure ticket would have printed before my wife could
have reacted and thief would have been out the door. He would have
entered another door and cashed easy. Better than snatching a purse.

The deal is, JUST BEWARE.
