Horseshoe paytable changes on 50/100 play machines

Was at Horseshoe weekend of 10-11 Jan and noticed they had reduced the
pay tables on the Deuces Wild from 99.7 (NSUD) to about 97.5 from my
estimates. I was upset and talked with the floor super. You could walk
up and get a machine at any time on Saturday night and sunday 7 of 8
machines were empty. These were the 50 and 100 play machines.

I ended up playing poker and the table and got dealt 2 aces and 2 more
on the flop...think that was the best hand for weekend...

That is certainly bad news. I wonder if the quarter and dollar machines have had their 9/6
JOB reduced. I have been waiting for this shoe to drop ever since the finalization of the
Harrah's sale and the devastation, across the board, in LV.

By the way, what did the floor super say, if anything?

I was wondering how long before they would take to start cutting
games back? With all the business going under it has got to trickle
down to them. We have been getting a lot of phone offers now that we
both have Diamond cards... mostly room offers. Last one was room and
food? I will have to go cash the $340 bonus cash check that I earned
from the offer they sent last Dec., if not this week "fer sure", next
week and maybe pick up the Micasa Plate. Of course I'll do some
checking then. Thanks for the input all!

I'll be at the Horseshoe next week, but maybe someone can confirm before then if all the 50-100 play games were downgraded.

I was at the Horseshoe Dec 24-26, 2008. The pay tables have been changed on the 50 play. The Jacks or better or no longer 9-6 they have been changed to 8-5. The Dueces wild was only paying 100 coins for a wild royal and it was 125. Lots of players were complaining but what can you do? I didn't check the $ machines to see if they had any 9-6 Jacks left. I planning a trip the end of this month and will look then. I have been going to the Shoe for a long time and still think it's the best casino. James I hope you fine some good pay tables.

The floor manager was not very helpful, but I left my name and phone

He stated they dont make any money on the vp at these pay tables
thats why they were changed. He also stated that they had a reduction

Looks like the thrill is gone...may be the last of my diamond card.
Just hope they do not take away the diamond. ha ha...

The other machines of interest at HS are, of course, the 5-line 9/6 JOB quarter machines on
the 2nd level. Any information on them would be appreciated as well.

Thanks.

Sorry Guys! Won't make it over till next week, got dentist and Dr.
stuff to follow up on. Who ever make it frist please post their
finding.... we all be very interested!
I guess the complaint I made last year were just a little premature!?
To bad to, cause I feel the other will follow Harrah's lead.... but
we'll see? I was hoping that since Ann had just earned her diamond
card we'd have a good year both playing! That the way it goes!?? We
will make a day trip over to check for ourselves next Wednesday, but
just a day trip. No overnighters till I decide it is worth it to me?
Of course, this turn of events may only run off the better player...
and the Lord knows they have plenty of the other kind to fill in the
spaces? Might help them out in the short run?
Well, enough wining?

Thanks, for your words, James. I hope that all goes well with your medical situation(s).

There is no rush for this HS information, at least not for me. We have a trip to Las Vegas in
the works over Super Bowl weekend and then another trip to LV at the end of March. With
the slashing of the 50/100 line pay tables at HS, we will not be contemplating a Bossier trip
until things clear up. Maybe the single line $1 machines have been left untouched.

..... BL.

Just Check ups, but thanks, BL!
Hope you all have a safe a profitable trip. Say hello to my money while in
Vegas,Ha!
If they cut too deep, I'll either play else where or stay home and go back
to buying Lotto tickets. At least with those I don't spend anywhere near
as much! And, can do the bulk of my gambling from my seat at the computer,
well after I buy my tickets anyway. I've found I can buy one year tickets
by phone from Mass. ( where my sibling live). That will give me something
to do all year, and who knows maybe I'll have a hit to pay back what I
spent.. or better.

There the rub, they will always have people that don't know any
better, playing! If you have ever stood and watched other play you
will know what I mean. Example: In one tournament a lady was playing
the VP machine as a slot.... never held a card?

Or those people that switch from game to game to game? Maybe they
know what there playing and play all those games well... however I
have my doubts!?
Of course these are just my opinions, and we'll see if cutting out
the better player makes any difference to their bottom line? Even at
these pay tables (9/6 JB; NSD; and 8/5 bonus to name a few) these
games are losing games, and I've lost most of the year. The last few
trip we managed a few small wins... not near as much as I lost
though? So unless you all are holding out on me and are big winners
every trip ;-), they have to be making money off even most of the
better players... don't you think? Their traffic will undoubtedly
drop with the cuts, well at least with VP player in the know!???

We'll see how it goes. Even Sam's Town has a few $1.00 9/6 JB so
maybe some dollar stuff will linger?

I wonder if the gentleman who played NSUD on two of the 100-plays at a
time for hours each session prompted the suits to evaluate the play and
conclude that they were not profitable. The wisdom, and possible down
side, of playing 2 machines at once has been discussed rather
thoroughly on the main VPFree site. Perhaps we are seeing another
example of why not to do it.

It is possible, I guess? Do two machine give twice the win or twice
the loss? Hehe!?? Well, will we be seeing him after this???

With NSUD, adding the Bossier HS cashback (.25%) and the Harrah's tier points (0.10%), it
becomes a positive game (yes, yes, yes, barely, and only if you play long enough and correct
enough). Playing 2 machines increases the number of games that you play per hour and
"ups" your return under those circumstances, over the long term. At 100 lines per pull you
are playing a lot of hands, with very low volatility.

He was playing $25 per pull on two machines. I am sure that he was playing near perfect in
that he would comment from time to time on my making proper holds and telling me that
most people do not understand the finer points of the NSUD strategy and make mistakes all
the time.

Sounds like a plan!

I really didn't lose last year because it was just a theoretical
loss? Some how I always go back to... If it looks like a skunk, walks
like skunk and smells like a skunk?? Don't be a poking it!
Thinks he's funny don't he?
But, I guess I am just on the wrong side of that curve? I'll bet if
they went through the trouble to change some of the games they
changed all of them, in the same machine? Can't wait to check it out!

Well at least the Lotto requires less driving, etc. I don't have to
pack and unpack and breath all that smoke. The only booze sloped on
the key board I have to put up with, I have the distinct pleasure of
doing myself! See, if you think real hard...? Ooo! that hurts! You to
can come up with benifits to this change at "The Boats"?

I Hope your first hand is a Rolay Flush!
