HORSESHOE CASINO IN S. INDIANA

Anyone have any info on this casino.....rooms, food, etc.? I have checked the database for playable games. Does Indiana withhold taxes on W2G jackpots?

The rooms are first class. Clean, roomy and nicely decorated in rich wood tones. Not overly fancy but very nice. The buffet quality is good with a large variety of available choices. The sandwich shops leave a lot to be desired....eat hotel side and avoid the "snack" areas on the boat. The walk from the hotel to the casino is LONG. Be prepared....it's a solid 10 minute hoof. They do have golf carts that run from the hotel to the casino taking 4 guests per trip (no charge, tips accepted and funny to see a golf cart zooming down the hallway). Some playable VP and very nice blackjack with lower minimums and descent games. I have not had a w2g there in a couple of years but the last one (2K) was paid in full with no deductions. Do not take this as gospel since a sizeable time has passed and things may have changed. If there are any specific questions you have feel free to email us. We will be there in late may for the Indy 500. Good luck....Go hit a royal!

I play VP there a lot. There are some decent games. However, it depends on the level you play at. You can get 9/6 JOB at .25. However most of the other games like DDB, & DB require .50. The really ironic thing is that in the high limit area, JOB is 9/5. Go figure. I have yet to find a multi line game that is full pay. And I mean really short pay. The place is clean and the staff reasonably friendly

Actually the food went considerably downhill in the buffet once Harrah's acquired them. (Used to be Caesars Indiana) The reasonably new JB' deli on the second deck isn't bad. But it's slow as molasses as is the Ace High deli off the boat. Portico's is superb, but pricey.

Doesn't have rooms. It is a riverboat. Great buffet, steakhouse and diamond lounge food. Nothing playable when I was there a couple of months ago. Very tight machines.

I'm not sure which Horseshoe you are referring to in regards to
unplayable games as you seem to have some confusion in regards to the
Southern (Louisville) and the Northern (Hammond near Chicago) locations.
However there are most definitely playable games at both locations
unless your standards exceed 100% returns.

For lower stakes single line play you have a wide range of 99.5% returns
at Southern Indiana. You can get 9/6 JoB in quarter, halves and
dollars. At halves and dollars you can also get 9/6 BPDlx, 9/5 SDB, 9/5
TB+ and 8/5 Super Aces. Nothing playable in multi line nor high
denominations.

The best games at the Northern location are generally high stakes. In
single line dollars you can find APDW (15/11). In the high limit room
you can find a 50 play dollar machine with APDW and 8/5 Super Aces (Both
99.9%+). You can also find single line machines at $5/$10/$25/$50 and
$100 that have APDW, 8/5 Supr Aces and 10/6/40 DDB. There is $1/$2/$5
Spin Poker with NSUD. And finally 3/5/10 play at $2/$5/$10 with APDW
and 8/5 Super Aces.

I agree about the buffet, rooms, and v.p.

To add a couple of comments about food - the steakhouse is very good and fairly reasonably priced. I also like Legends, the flair bar/grill in the pavilion area. Nice, comfy atmosphere, good bartenders, and decent food. I've ordered room service for breakfast several times, and that has always been good, reasonable, and prompt.

The bar on the second floor of the boat (I believe it's called Envy) is very nice. They have good bands, mostly on the weekends, and the seats are very comfy. It does get a little loud there, though.

I find all of the staff to be very friendly and well-trained. I think it's one of the best boats, period.

Enjoy your stay and report back.
