Horseshoe Bossier City

If you have played at the Horseshoe in Bossier City recently would you
e-mail me privately. I am planning on going in about 10 days and I have
a question.
Thanks

Hey BL,
I'm not the one to answer much about the 'Shoe, don't as a rule go
over there much. Don't play there any? Is there anything beter than
the El'? We've made the Eldorado our home Casino since there isn't
any better games else where anyway??

All I know is that the 50 and 100 plays still have 9/6 JB on them.
They have a version of Deuces on them too, don't remember the
paytable.... somehow I think is wasn't NSU though?? But can't say for
sure? As for any other games in the Casino, Don't know?? We just went
to play a few hands of penny and nickel for the fun of it since there
isn't much to camp out on and play FOR seriously!!
I hope this answers the possible questions of (ozymandias77096 )
below, as far as I know what is what that is!?
maybe he/she can get some answers from you?

Hi, James!

From what I remember, the "best" they have is 9/6 JOB (99.5%), NSUD (99.7%) and Bonus
Deuces (99.4%). I think that they also have Bonus Poker (99.1%).

It is a rather small casino, compared to what you find in LV, with all of the VP apparently
clustered together on the bottom level. It was really CROWDED on the weekends that we
were there.

On some of the single lines, I think that you can play 15 coin.

And, you have to be careful. The paytables on some of the machines change drastically as
you move for one denomination to another, as well as from machine to machine.

There is a free shuttle to the racino at La. Downs, but that is all slots.

There are lots of opportunities if you scout. Basic Horseshoe points
are 1 reward credit / $10 coin in, some people count this as .1%, I
discount it to .07%. They also have cashback at .25%. So the total
basic return in my book is game +.32%.
On top of that you need to add in whatever promotion they have going
on, for example in April they have 7x rewards for 7* members (3x if
only diamond) on sundays, this boosts it to .49% +.25% = .74% + game,
on top of that you are earning drawing tickets for Cars which they
give away every few weeks. If you don't think it pays, I won a BMW
last April and have been called several times for other drawings.
As for the games,
50/100 plays have 9/6 jacks, NSU, Bonus Dlx, from $2.50/hand to
$25/hand, you can crank the money through playing on turbo mode my
average is about 12k per hr on NSU with very little tax exposure.
On top of that there are multiple platforms all with 9/6 jacks
(99.54%), NSU(99.73%), SDB (99.69%)plus others. You generally need
to play @ a minimum of $1 level, there are some $.25 single lines,
but generally I stick with the $1/$2 3/5 plays, and the $1
spinpokers. If you are really brave on the 3rd floor they just
changed the games to add NSU on the $5/$10/$25 single line and the $5/
$10/$25 3/5 plays (they always had 9/6 jacks if you don't play NSU)
but taxes take a big bite so that level of play I reserve for my
trips to NV.
Boomtown still has multipoint days that become positive, and el
dorado has good stuff too, just look and you will find it.

Good Luck,
TC

Some additional (personal) input on HS/BC (the good, the bad, and the ugly...<smile>).

In my opinion the HS/BC DL's (yes, there are 2 of them) are nothing special to write home
about. The lower one seems to be for "overflow", in that it appears only to be open on
weekends. They are both quite small with only small amounts of seating and can become
quite crowded. They do provide all of the usual amenities, however. And, the DL staff
always are very friendly and solicitous, but sometimes overworked.

There is a much nicer DL at the Racino at La. Downs, but it is still not as nice as those at
Caesars or Paris in LV. And, as already said, there is no VP at La. Downs.

Shreveport/Bossier City do not have to offer what Las Vegas does and, therefore, if you do
not want to gamble 24/7, they leave something to be desired. Restaurants are few and
bars even fewer with no "shows" like one is used to in LV.

My wife and I usually hit LV for 5 days at a time and are kept busy and entertained
throughout the entire time. At HS/BC, anything more than a 1 overnight stay seems to get
tedious for us.

Hey...but that is us! I am sure lots and lots of people have lots and lots of fun at HS/BC.
Go for it! Make up your own mind!

Hi!

Is this "multiplier" situation widely "advertised"? Where does one learn about reward
multipliers at Horseshoe?

We may be going to BC/HS this weekend and this would be a pleasant "extra".

Thanks for the information.

It was in my monthly mailer that comes from HS. Late last year they
had the 7x credits on Sundays but failed to notify anyone, they had one
little tiny sign in the bottom diamond lounge that I spotted after the
promotion was almost over. I let them know quite loudly that I would
have been there a lot more if I had known about the promotion.
This month I've met players from New Orleans and Tunica who came in
just for the promotion, so the word is out somehow. We were all trying
to activate our cards at midnight and the machine wasn't working, but
they got it sorted out, definitely runs from midnight to midnight and
you must swipe and activate rewards credits promotion button to get the
credit (it is easy and self explanatory once you see the machine).

We were at HS/Bossier this weekend. I did not see anything about multiple points on
Sunday anywhere in the casino or in the hotel. I did see the the 7-stars announcement in
the mailing. There was something that flashed on the flatscreens around the lobby about
Sundays in April being multiple points days for 7-stars, but nothing about Diamond.

I spoke to a boothling on Sunday morning and she said that it was only multiple point days
on Sundays for 7-stars people, unless you received a specific invitation. The boothling did
say that one should swipe their card every day to see if anything shows up. I did swipe my
card on Sunday morning and was informed that "multiple points" were activated on my
account (I am Diamond). I played through about $15K on Sunday morning (we left for
home just before noon), but nothing but Tier Points registered on the VP displays. I am
assuming that the "multiple points" will show up in my account in a couple of days???

During the entire weekend, my wife and I played about $60K through the machines and
did not earn a single Reward Point, only the "regular" Tier Points. We were only playing
JOB and NSUD.
