Hooters & Excalibur updates

The short answer is that casinos without a volunteer Casino
Monitor will no longer be updated after 1 JAN 2007.

Here's some further rationale from the Casino Monitor web
site <http://members.cox.net/vpfree/FAQ_CM.htm> :

"Prior to the Casino Monitor program, the vpFREE Administrator
maintained and updated all of the DataBase pages for individual
casinos. It was an inefficient, frustrating, time-consuming job
to update the inventories for several hundred casinos based on
second hand reports that sometimes weren't too clear.
Decentralizing the process and using volunteer Casino Monitors to
update their favorite casino(s) based on first hand observations
won't be that difficult for the monitor, and should provide more
current and accurate data.

On 1 JAN 2007 any casino that doesn't have a Casino Monitor will
no longer be updated in the vpFREE DataBase - on its individual
page or on its Index + Summary page. The vpFREE Administrator
will continue to make updates to casinos without monitors until
then."

i agree with this guy that the casino pages are one of the
best features of the site...so what's up with no longer
updating them...seems like they are being more or less kept
up to date without official casino monitors...

i'm curious approximately how many hours per week are needed to
update the casino pages...it just seems it is one thing to report a
change in a casino you frequent and another to actually have the
knowledge to inventory the whole casino accurately...

It would be a shame to not have them updated. Ever think of
switching to a pay subscription? That way monitors could be
compensated. Is there anyone here who wouldn't pay $20 a month? I'm
pretty new but would have no problem with something like that.

I suppose one could change the name to vp20AMonth.... Seriously, I think
this would be contrary to the original concept and philosophy that brought
about vpFREE in the first place. Why don't we wait to see if the new system
works before you throw the baby out. OTOH, I'd be first to say that vpFree
admin duty deserves compensation and support.
