Hollywood

I received the same lure for less cash back. I have not gone there yet.
I assume the "Legend" progressive is no longer there? (The five $1 games included NSUD. The five 25c machines included Illinois Deuces.)

The Hollywood casino in Aurora sent $80 (and free admission and free
parking) to lure us out there. We hadn't been there since they
started charging admission to everything except the bathroom, and
(they said) they missed us. So we visited. We found a VP wasteland,
with maybe 8 (barely) playable machines (9-6 Double Aces and Faces
at .25 .50 and 1.00) Most machines I checked offered returns of less
than 97% --- some far less. I actually saw 7-5 Double Double Bonus. I
vowed never to complain about the Majestic or the Trump again. Oh
yeah, ... unless you have a coupon, admission is $5, parking is $2,
and re-entry to the casino is $5. What are they, nuts? The joint was
as quiet as a mime convention, and I can see why.I wish them lots of
luck getting back the $80 million they claim they spent on their new
facilities.

I used to frequent Hollywood as it's within 15 minutes of my home.
That was before they started charging admission. Since then I've only
been there once and that was in company of a high roller whose guests
get in for free. The last time I was there they only had full pay at
$1 or higher with very limited choices of games, mostly DDB which did
not strike me as being on the level. I gave Hollywood quite a bit of
action in the past as I was forced to play $1 denomination and yet
they still would not give me complimentary admission and parking. How
insane is this?? I wrote a lengthy letter to Hollywood's director of
operations pointing out the serious flaws of their customer service
model and got a canned response which whined about the tax increase. I
explained to Hollywood that they are a casino, not an amusement park
and that if I was going to risk my money on their terms they had
better provide incentives for me to do so. Charging fees for admission
and parking is not an incentive. I now drive to a casino 60 miles
away, but I have a lot more fun making a lot more money. I've learned
to respect Majestic thanks to my experience with Illinois and even
some Nevada casinos. MS isn't perfect, but it certainly has its good
points and is clearly #1 in the area as far as VP is concerned.
Hollywood OTOH is in the "don't even bother" category.
