Holiday message

I get an early start on my holiday greetings in general and hope this is
welcome here. I'm posting to simply express my appreciation for the vp
forums and the many ways in which they enrich my play experience.

I imagine that my frequent vpFREE/acvpp posts this year betray a
desperate need for an informed listener to whom I can intelligently (no
comments, ok?) express myself (or rant  on the subject. (Speaking
with friends and relatives merely yields concern for my wife's fiscal
well-being.)

However, trust that the insights I've gleaned, not to mention sharing in
other's reported exploits, are what I truly crave when I "tune in" --
these groups never disappoint. I have the deepest regard for those who
take the time to contribute and, of course, the moderators who
altruistically commit their efforts to foster the groups.

Best wishes for the New Year; keep the trip reports flowing!

- Harry

I would like to second the sentiments of Harry's post, and add two
year-end comments.

1. With 3,000+ members it would be great to see higher percentage of
the membership posting...with a nod to T.R. get in the "arena"

2. I'd like to nominate "rockofjello333" as poster of the year. I
have consistently enjoyed reading his well written and thoughtful
posts.

Hi Jay,

I agree with all your points 1000%.

1. I wish everyone a happy holiday season

2. I too would like to read posts from more members, if only to read
some additional and divergent opinions about vp.

3. I think that ROJ's posts, though controversial at times, are
intelligent, humorous, and well thought out. They are ALWAYS
interesting to read, and written with style. It is NOT necessary to
AGREE with Rock, in order to enjoy his posts. I hope he continues to
post in the weeks and months to come, despite the flaming that he
has had to endure. I suppose that I will also get flamed (probably
privately, so that no more "vacations" are bestowed) because of my
posting this. So be it. I am an old fashioned gal, intensely
patriotic, and a believer in free speech, on this board, and in the
greatest country on earth, the USA. That is my opinion, and I stick
by it.

Again, wishing you all Happy Holidays.

Babe

ROJ is very literate and articulate. However, I think he frequently
interpets disagreement with insult. We're all guilty of that
sometimes, and I've been trying more and more to always attribute
the best possible motives to people who reply to my posts or send me
emails. I've found it stops the ping-pong game of perceived slights
from ever starting.

I think I could find a few people who'd like to meet ROJ in to give him the
award in person;-)
