Holding Machines

Hi,
I noticed something interesting at MS when I was there this weekend. I
went to play PE early Saturday and saw that one of the machines was
disabled. While talking to one of the regular PE players she said that
someone was playing that machine for about 10 hours and lost about 3G.
He asked his host to disable the machine so he could take a nap and
then have the machine back when he was ready to play. I couldn't
believe they would do that so I emailed my host who told me that under
some circumstances they will do that for a high roller (my wife and I
didn't fit that criteria as I was just curious. Has any one else had
this happen while they were playing

Common practice at most casinos as far as I know. It is irritating if you
feel you play as much as the person who is holding the machine and thus they
are denying you access to it. Actually happened to me in AC this weekend.
I frankly can't fault the practice.any business has to take care of its best
customers. I'm not sure if every casino would consider a $1 Pickem player
as a high roller but I guess MS values this customer so they should extend
them some leeway. One point.usually the machine is held for only an hour or
two, any longer would not be appropriate in my opinion unless it is for a
true high roller.

Mel,

Was there Fri night, 3 $1 PE machines were disabled during the
drawing. Played 9/6 JOB at a bar instead. Problem stems from the
comps being reduced at the $5 machines which has "forced" the high
level players down to dollars. If the comps were restored alpha
preditors could return to their traditional feeding grounds and
everyone would be happier. A friend told me that he was playing Sat.
morning and someone waited 40 min for a payoff for quads with the
machine disabled. At least this sort of problem the casino could
alleviate w/o stepping on anyone's toes.

Foxwoods has a similar policy in their high roller section. Dick McK.
