Been quite a while since my last post... Just returned from Vegas. Had
heard about the "Optimal Play" banks at Fiesta Henderson. We've stayed
there on the past three trips...always very enjoyable. Host Jerry Rains is
one of the best, although I spent so much time in the Horseshoe poker room
downtown that I only saw her once, and never got a chance to even ask for
any goodies.
The optimal play was fine, but only on DB. Very poor results on DW.
Again, as I've said many times, for quick hit and run play, or short term
visits, full pay is not a huge factor, particularly when the optimal
machines only give you half points.
The best news is that on Monday at noon Fiesta Henderson innaugurated two
poker tables in the main pit area. One is 2-4 limit hold em, the other was
to be stud, but was switched to a second hold em table due to lack of stud
response. Can't wait to see what kinds of poker promos come in the mail
over the next months. Word is that they'll open a poker room, but it may
be up to a year before they do. I played at the opening table, quite a
kick. Did very well both at Binion's and Fiesta, btw. Another great
reason to keep going to FH.
