The vpFREE VIDEO POKER HALL OF FAME started
with only five charter members because I wanted to recognize
and honor the worthiest of the worthy first, and I also wanted to
maintain interest in the HOF by having annual inductees over
a period of time.
In my judgement there are around a dozen people who should
definitely be in the HOF. Accordingly, for quality control purposes,
entry procedures are scheduled to tighten up for inductee #11
and higher.
In my view, the more nominees the better, and I'll leave it up to
the voting to determine whether or not a particular nominee's
qualifications are worthy of recognition.
Yahoo Polls don't allow voting results to be kept secret during the
voting, and they mandate that anyone can change their vote at
anytime during the voting. This is somewhat unusual, but I think it
works pretty good for our HOF selection process.
I'm happy with the HOF procedures and don't anticipate making
any major changes.

OK, here's one suggestion: after the voting is closed hold another
election where we are allowed to vote for as many candidates as we
wish.
Current format is more like an MVP award vs HOF where more than one
candidate can ascend the podium on an equal basis.
Would also suggest delisting Jeff Compton. As the voting now stands, he is no threat to overtake the leaders.
We all owe him a lot due to his expertise on slot clubs with the emphasis put on "slot clubs". However, consider
the scenario where Jeff is the landslide vote-getter on the HOF voting. This would be a slap in the face to the
people who have real VP expertise.
I'm basing my knowledge on Jeff's lack of expertise on the book by his good friend, Bob Dancer. In it, he refers
to Jeff's initial lack of knowledge of strategy & dislike of playing vp for long hours. What he knows about vp
comes from others & I assume most of it was from Dancer.
Now if we had a slot club HOF, I would vote for Jeff for #1. But our
HOF says "vp" in front of it.
An observation: earlier posts said that Dancer was in the lead by a wide margin. When I first checked today, I
saw that Paymar was leading the pack. Since we're able to see the results after voting & change votes until the
last minute, I wonder how many votes for Paymar were actually votes against "Dancer".
Another suggested change would be to not show results until polls are closed & you can't change your votes.
BTW, I voted for John Kelly but wanted to vote for several more.
