I saw the modern poker machines for the first time at the Holiday Inn Casino downtown (now the Main Street Station) during the summer of 1980. The only game was 9-6 jack or better.
There was one 10-7 jacks or better at Circus-Circus that lasted a few days around Sept. 1980.
These games were 1-5 coins with the maximum pay for the royal on the 5th coin just like today.
