Hi

I 'd have to say that a half decent anti-virus program would have prevented
this.

vpFree Community,

My AOL mail was hacked last night and I am sorry for the SPAM to the group.

I have lost all of my saved emails and 95% of my address book is gone so, I
can't even send an email to alert everyone.

I know we have seen this same message on the board before. So, if this has
happened to you, I'd love some advice as to how best to proceed.

Thanks and remember to keep a secure strong password. What a pain to wake up
to this mess.

An anti-virus program would not have prevented this at all. Your account was hacked, which simply means that someone figured out your password. To solve the problem, the solution is to simply change your email password. Try something trickier this time and mix letters, numbers, caps, lowercase and punctuation. Unless you give your password away(responding to spoofed emails or websites), your account will never be hacked.
