HET Laughlin Junket

It is time once again to pick the brains of the Laughlinphiles. I
received a letter from Harrah's Laughlin today offerring me free
digs and two seats RT out of Chicago on an MD80 directly into
Laughlin... or I guess across the river in BHC. I have been meaning
to get back to Laughlin since the town kicked the crap out of me
about a year ago, but the flight into Vegas followed by the drive
into Laughlin is a major PITA. I jumped on the offer in minutes.

So, can anyone who has taken one of these Junkets give me a little
info? Assigned seats on the plane? Flight quality? The letter
mentions Allegiant.

I'm kind of curious what kind of play they expect. I have really
played very little there on my card. The offer was based on my
Caesars LV play. I don't particularly mind disappointing them if
the bar is too high.

And does the river actually have water in it these days?

I have been on many junkets to Laughlin over the years, but never
from Harrahs. The usual cattle call is as you check in, they will
give you a boarding pass with a number on it. First one in line gets
#1 etc. Boarding is done with handicapped first, and then 1-25 group
then 26-50 etc. I assume they will use a similar method. By the way,
I have found these flights full of senior citizens, and they like to
get everywhere early. One third of the passengers were there 3 hours
or more before the flight! My flights are short, so I don't care
where I sit in the plane- just get me there. Also, these flights are
direct, so the time in the air is minimal. They usually give you
peanuts and a soft drink. Sometimes they have a raffle going also.
Throw in a $1 with your seat number on it type deal. My wife won once.

One beauty of the Harrahs flights is they don't "expect" any action,
but you got your offer on play somewhere. You can stiff them, and
there will be no repercussions. Don't be in hurry to play those
triple play bartops at the EW, as they have been downgraded. Didn't
you get hosed on those last time?

Yes, there was water in the river last month. If you are interested
you can get updated information from here:

Now you mentioned something about a special diet request? The best I
can remember I have not seen PITA bread served anywhere at Harrahs
Laughlin.

Right, so get there 6 hours early and the raffle is a good gambling
opportunity;-)

The offer didn't even show up on the TR site. Pretty interesting.

I heard the machines from hell were downgraded. "hosed" begins to
describe it. I played those things for days and only remember
hitting one set of deuces. It was a nightmarish run. I'll probably
check out some of the progs at CB. I have a few MB comps I'd like
to use up before the change to MGM. The brew pub seems like a
likely spot to use them.

I often make my own PITA if no one provides it for me;-) I guess
Yahoo is messing up again? This reply did not make it to my
mailbox. First time I noticed I missed any mail.

Do you mind telling us when the junket is going to arrive? I just
booked my first Harrahs junket June 19- June 23 from Stockton. I am
going to celebrate the summer soltice in Laughlin. I am also going to
bring my 22 year old son with me on this trip. I guess I need to
start corrupting the next generation. Mr. Bluestreak - Terry, has
also promised to be in town at the same time.
