HET cashback from Vegas is 4600 total points = $15 I believe -- this is not
base points - an important difference. However, the cashback is still
pitiful. Local Vegas players also get offers such as coupons to play 100 (total)
points and get $50, which help. However locals get very few mailings for slot
tournaments and other events, no matter how much they play. I do better at
HET by giving my out of state address, and then I get offers for things like
Visa shopping sprees, out-of-state properties, tournaments, etc.
For VP players, HET in Vegas doesn't offer a lot. Many other properties are
better, because they have more multiplier days and even better cashback.
When I played in Atlantic City I got much higher cashback than from Vegas.
Also I've been getting generous offers for things like $100 food and $100
cashback almost every month for over a year since, without any additional play.
If you are in Vegas, HET properties are not the best to play at, in general.
But specific promotions can be decent.
Recently however, it appears that shopping sprees will be based on specific
play levels that are quite high, rather than on a general "4 hours of play
required." For me, this means I will stop going to Ballys for the shopping
sprees.
