A while back I posted a message wondering if VPW was
actually "random". I had lost one thousand credits almost instantly in
a rather dramatic drop. Well....Harry or any of the other great
mathamatical minds please explain this one: started with 500 credits.
Played about twenty sessions of about forty five minutes each (this is
a guess) I have not had a negative session yet! My play was on DDB and
I had the "warn" on thus my play was "perfect". My lowest drop was 300
credits....my total score is now: Sixty Three Thousand Three Hundred
and eighty five credits!!!!!!!!!!!! I practice for the fun of it but I
cannot believe that this program is "random". It is also single line
play, thank you. Rod
Here I go again................

I'll stress that only one of the Training Style settings (Difficulty:
Mixed) involves a random deal.
All other settings strive for hands with hold combinations having a
given selection challenge vs alternate holds in the hand. For
Beginner and Intermediate modes this mechanism results in dealt hands
predominantly having a "positive" EV, and your credits will tend to
climb without fail during practice.

I've noticed that too... I always seem to do better when I play on
VPM or WinPoker for that matter, than when I play in the casino.I make
sure I learn the strategies well before I put real money down. And
even if i make a few mistakes,it's hard to believe it would make that
much difference.

In order to get a truly random deal in VPW, I believe "Training Style"|"Level of Difficulty" has to be set to "Mixed". Check your setting.

And I will say it again and suggested that the word "mixed" be changed
to random or casino style or some such name that might be more
intuitive than mixed.
