We are visiting Reno/Tahoe (we are from St. Louis) Would like any advice:
1. Best video poker for DDB
2. Best places to eat at Harrah's owned establishments.
Harrah's Lake Tahoe
---Gi Fu Loh---very good but expensive chinese, 2 of the appetizers (shark
fin soup & bird's nest soup) are $100 - please don't order shark fin soup
because it's on Seafood Watch _www.seafoodwatch.org_
(http://www.seafoodwatch.org)
---Friday's Station Steak & Seafood---my experience has been excellent in
steaks, seafood & view near sundown -- it's on top floor (18).
---Forest Buffet --- also on top floor (18). Recommend it for view & food
is pretty good for a buffet. Some may complain about selection but it's
oriented toward chinese of which it has a few odd selections which you won't
normally find at a buffet. If you're into standard then it's just a good
buffet.

Harveys Lake Tahoe
---19 Kitchen --- on the 19th floor. I liked the food but the view made me
forget what I ordered. If you want a romantic, sunset view, this is it.

3. Best diamond lounges for harrah's.
4. Any fun/tourist spots to visit for us who are not into winter sports,
but like museums, history, music.

Shopping
Since my home town (25 miles from Carmel/Monterey with its
tourist-friendly/trap prices) shopping centers lack selection & tend toward local quality,
we've found shopping in Reno to be quite a step up in both value &
selection. Since the economy has slammed Reno hard, the shopping centers here have
been a favorite of my wife who waits till she can come up here to do our
shopping. Last year, we bought a mattress & small dining table from the
stand-alone Macy's furniture store (across from Meadowood) where we could
actually see & try many examples of what interested us. Naturally it was drop
shipped to us & Macy's people helped us prepare space & then set it up for
us.

The two main shopping malls that we go to are Meadowood & Summitt are
highly rated:

The Summitt is an open-air mall near the intersection of 395 & Mt. Rose &
has mostly high-quality items. The economy has prompted some bargains.
