Help with JoB & a few other ?'s

Hello, I am going to Laughlin Saturday for 2 days. I am staying at the
Colorado Belle. Because hubby is a `tightwad' (LOL) I can usually only
play 5c machines. I know I won't `hit it big' this way, but at least I
will get to play, and maybe come home with more than I spend. That is
my main goal. I want to be as educated in playing as a I can, so I am
wondering if any of you can help me with the following questions. I
would REALLY appreciate it!!!

1) Can you tell me if I am reading the database correctly?
I think it lists Colorado Belle & River Palms as the only 2 casinos
with FP 9/6, 5c JoB. Is this right?

2) Does anyone know WHERE in the casino the 5c JoB machines are? It
would help if I had a heads up on `where' to look.

3) If I had a choice of playing max bet (5) on a 5c, FP 9/6 JoB
machine OR playing only 1 credit on a 25c FP 9/6 JoB machine, which
should I choose? I know not to play a progressive machine with only 1
credit in, but what about a regular JoB machine? I would be wagering
the same amount either way.

4) Same question as #3, but what if my choice was a NON FP (like 8/5)
5c JoB vs. FP 25c JoB? Should I choose max bet on Non-FP JoB or
minimum bet on 25c FP JoB?

4) I have been practicing with the Frugal VP software & plan to print
out strategy cards from it. I would like to have some `smaller,
pre-made' strategy cards though. Is there someplace in Laughlin where
they can be purchased? I don't have time to order them online. Also,
has anyone ever had trouble using stategy cards in the Laughlin
casinos? (I am a little 'shy' about it, but I know it is said to be ok
to use them)

5) Can you suggest another VP game that I could apply my knowledge of
JoB strategy on? JoB is all I have learned so far, and do fairly well
in practice. But I may have to play something else to keep hubby
`entertained'. Is there anything else I can play without having to
learn a whole new strategy? What VP game has the closest strategy to JoB?

THANK YOU..

1&2-

The one nickel 9/6 Jacks at RP vanished in the recent sweep.

At CB, from the database:

<A HREF="http://members.cox.net/vpfree/Gloss.htm#JoB">9/6 JoB (99.5%)</A>

(10) 5c/25c/50c MG/MD uprights (Green glass) between River Bar and snack bar
(east/central).

These are still there at last look. That is the name of the bar "River".
The change booth/redemption machine is right there too.

#3- A vast majority of VP a royal is 800/coin playing maximum per hand and
only 250/coin playing short. Play max coin. Royals really do happen.

#4- just shrink 'em using your computer or a plain old copier machine. I
laminate mine just with clear packing tape. They last for years, are easy to
fold and take up little room in a pocket. No hassles in Nevada.

#5- Bonus 8/5 works for Jacks strategy. There are Sigma brand Double
Jackpot 8/5 in quarters in Laughlin too that equates well with Jacks.

Review the promos in the Laughlin Entertainer magazine found in all casinos.
CB has been known to have food deals like "eat for a buck".

Enjoy.

I should also ask, what do I look for on the database to find tyhe Bonus 8/5 that you mentioned? (How is it abreviated) And will I find it in 5c denomination? I will be stuck playing 5c Max coin, so need to know what games in that denomination I can play with JoB strategy & also where to find them etc. (since you say max @ 5c is still better than one coin in/credit at 25c)

Thanks again...

Oops..one of my messages seems to have 'disappeared'. I will try to write it again...

Re: #3..I thought all FP VP paid 4000 coin for a RF. That seems to be what the pay tables I have seen in the books/online. You say it is 800. I am confused! Does it change based on the denomination?

I thought that I had asked a bad question too after I did the math...5c at max play, with a RF paying 4000 coin= $200.00 won & 25c at ONE credit in only play, with a RF paying 250 coin= $62.50 won. Seemed like a dumb question when I looked at it like that. Assuming the strategy & all is the same, it seems then that just based on postential money won, it makes sense to play max on 5c vs. one in on 25c. (Which is still what you said, just wondering about the difference in RF coins paid.)

Re: #5 Ok, so if Bonus 8/5 is not lisited, can you still suggest HOW to find one? What do I look for? What pay table or what name. Please understand I am a TOTAL novice..all I know is what I have been able to learn on Frigal Video Software. So names of games confuse me. Unless, it is actually called "Bonus Video Poker" LOL, with 8/5 listed where I would normally look for 9/6. JoB is hard to, as I know there are other names...I just try to look at pay table to see if it is JoB. Is this is a reasonable thing to do?

I will NOT be able to play MAX bet on 25c, so does this mean I will not be able to play them at all? If I should only play max bet, I will HAVE to stick with 5c. (which seems to leave Bonus Poker out, unless it comes in 5c) Does this mean my only VP option will be JoB?? Remember I only know JoB strategy...Although, at this point I think I will print ALL the strategy cards out & shrink them as you suggested. At least I will have a chance that way if I sit down at another 5c machine!! LOL (or is there even ANYTHING else that comes in 5C denominations!!?)

Thanks Again for your help...I leave in a few hours..trying to learn all I can. I will have computer in Laughlin, so can keep 'learning' once I am there if need be

Harrah's also has several 5c 9/6 JoB machines (see the database). The
games are the 50 play variety, but people often play fewer hands.

River Palms has one 1c/5c 9/6 JoB machine (not yet in database)
located at the southwest corner of the mezzanine railing. Look for
the Spin poker game option. NOTE WELL: In the bank of four machines,
only the machine at the NE corner is full-pay JoB.

JoB playing strategy works well for most Bonus Poker games (8/5 or
7/5). Many 5c games labeled "Bonus Poker" only pay 1 for two pair -
stick with those that pay 2 for two pair.
