I need some advice. I live in St. Louis. My host never calls and does not return my calls. I spoke with him a few weeks ago, and he did treat me to a dinner. I am coming on Seven Stars status for the first time, in a week or so. I would like to see if I can get a different host, but do not understand how the host system works, or who I should even talk to. Also, I would like to get whatever perks you get this year when I become Seven Stars, and I believe that my host will not "go to bat" for me in that regard.
Any advice is appreciated.

Help with Harrahs host
Each Harrahs property has some different rules but if you want the annual trip and celebration dinner that is associated with being Seven Stars for 2010, then you should earn Seven Stars before December 1 (although St. Louis may have different rules).
Whether you can switch host is probably going to be dependent upon why you are calling your host and what you are asking for.
Being Seven Stars does not get you much other than the benefits outlined. All other comps are dependent upon average daily coin-in.

If you qualify for 7* before December 31 -- not December 1 as another poster wrote, then you will be eligible for benefits through March 31, 2011. Since your host must arrange your annual trip and dinner, I would go to the casino's director of marketing or player development and request someone else. Afterall, this host is making money from your play, so you should be comfortable with him/her. Check my Web site, https://sites.google.com/site/sevenstarsinsider/, for all the details, or feel free to e-mail me privately at sevenstarsinsider@gmail.com. I have a new newsletter coming out today, so I will add you to my mailing list. ~Darryl

The avenue through which I generally seek a host change is to ask around other players I know from the casino to get a feel for a strongly reputable host and then ask a player to introduce me.
Procedures for host reassignment vary by property/region. Sometimes a formal reassignment is necessary; sometimes it's only necessary to book a stay or events a few times through the new host and reassignment is automatic.
I suggest connecting with a new host as soon as possible. Don't speak too harshly of your current host. Just say that you're anxious to work with someone who's more proactive than your current host and that this person has come highly recommended ... ask if they'd be willing to handle your account and what's necessary to effect a change.
Your new targeted host can suggest how best to accomplish this. Note that it's also necessary for a host to put in the request for your 7* upgrade when you've earned the necessary tier credits.

I disagree with your answer however the policies change at Harrahs all the time and sometimes it depends upon which casino is your dominant casino.
You earn tier status for the next calendar year not the current year. However, Harrahs traditionally has upgraded players when they reach the higher level for the current calendar year as well as the next calendar year (and the additional three months). In addition, they have given all the benefits immediately including the annual trip, gift and celebration dinner thus it is possible to earn Seven Stars status for only year but yet obtain two trips (the current year plus the next year that you earned Seven Stars status for). Some Harrahs properties have a policy that if you do not earn Seven Stars status before December 1, then you do not get the trip, gift and dinner immediately but only get these items for the calendar year that you earned Seven Stars thus only one trip, gift and celebration dinner.
