Under "options" I clicked on "Adapt Resolution to Screen" -- and the
problem is that now I can't get it back to normal size.
Help w/Frugal VP
Go to 'Options->View Options'. Click "Don't Adapt Resolution".
'Options->Adapt Resolution to Screen' adapts only for the current game.
The other does it everytime you start the game.

I've had that same situation happen to me too. If you can get to
options, that is the move, click "Don't Adapt Resolution". What
I've done is close the window instead of exiting the program and the
window closes and goes to your desktop and the frugal icon is not
diplayed along with the start button. I'm guessing because of the
adaptation. Basicly you can't get into or out of frugal. The only
way I can get it work is to "Control/Alt/delete" and end the task.
At that point frugal will ask you to "Save the Session" and you can
exit and start over. I hope this this will help if you were having
the same problem.

I've been unable to recreate this, but maybe I'm not clear on what
you're doing. "Adapting resolution" sets your hardware to the designed
resolution, and returns it when you're done. However, you can also
click 'Ctrl + S', and resize the screen by dragging the corners - This
is implemented by a scaling algorithm and can look a bit choppy at
times.
