game or a strategy for it.

Isn't Santa Fe Station the closest casino to... Area 51? Go up 95 to a
little before the Lincoln county line then head due north over two big mountains
and there you are.

Assuming the game was called "Ace Invaders", here's what I
wrote about it in my "What I Liked About the 2004 Gaming Show" a year
ago. Every year I have a similar article in either Strictly Slots or
Casino Player --- depending on where they have room in their November or
December issue. I have no specific knowledge about pay schedules. When
it was explained to me at the show, Larry DeMar (head of Leading Edge
Design --- who also created Multi Strike) told me that you hold spare
aces. For example, from a dealt hand like 6h 6s 4c Ad 3s, the correct
play would be 66A.

I have forwarded a copy of this (as a bcc) to Larry so it
will catch his attention. I suspect he'll be happy to tell us more.

ACE INVADERS --- This looks like a Triple Play game, but it's not. The
bottom line is played normally, and the top two lines are dealt from
different 52-card decks. The top two lines are stud games, which means
there is no draw. What makes the game interesting is that aces from the
top two lines fall into the lower two lines if it'll improve your score.

What gives this game a chance for success is that many
players love getting four aces. Here you'll end up with a 250-coin four
aces on the bottom line every 88 hands or so and a 2,500-coin five aces
every 1,700 hands or so.

Bob-

Thank you for responding and pointing this post out for me.

The game being referred to is indeed called "Ace Invaders Bonus
Poker". This game was developed by Omni Design Group of Las Vegas, and
we (Leading Edge Design) partnered with Omni to produce it with IGT.

Bob's description of the game in his column is accurate. Although you
bet the standard 5 credits per hand, the upper 2 hands are dealt as
stud hands after the draw on the bottom hand. By not drawing to the
upper hands the payout would be reduced, but this is more than offset
by the feature where if one or more Aces can be copied to the hand
below it, the combination that improves the pay of the hand will drop.
Also, a Royal Flush will be copied to all hands below when they
occur on the upper hands.

Bob remembers the "Ace Kicker" situation however it does not apply to
a hand with a low pair. In the 6-6-4-A-3 example you would hold just
the Ace and discard the low pair. It is similar to holding that lone
deuce in deuces wild where you want to leave open spots for other
deuces. In J-J-4-A-3 you would hold the paying pair of Jacks and the
Ace kicker. While the Jacks lower the chance for more aces on the
lower hand, if the Aces find their way to the center hand they will
drop right down and cover the jacks if they can make 2 pair or better.

As Bob points out, you get 4 Aces (for 250) about every 88 hands and 5
Aces (for 2500) about every 1700 hands.

The game is currently at Boulder Station, Santa Fe and Mirage.

We expect to have a playable version of this game on our web site
before the end of the year.
