The machines overlooking the escalator at the GN are antediluvian--be
careful with the buttons. The fourth machine from the escalator entry, for example,
has a button that sometimes "disengages" when you press the Draw/Deal
button. I reported this and they put a repair sign on the machine--I took off for
Vegas. I decided to re-route on the way home to check--same problem. Maybe
they repaired it since then. Also, same bank, they sneakily placed shot pay
versions with varied and creative pay tables on the last four or five machines.
Check pay table before playing. Linda

Whachta doing in Laughlin? It is true there is an assortment of paytables
for the quarter Sigmas Double Double Jackpots. It is true the 9/6/5 ones are at
best 1996 models. It is a museum at the Golden Nugget...but 14 out of 30+
still cough up 100.3%.

You can also walk by all the downgraded machines over the years. Until two
years ago, there was actually .50 and $1 DDJ, now 8/6/5. The quarter DB, all
eight of them were 10/7/5, the Deuces were FDDW, instead of Colorado, the
bartops had some plays in quarters and dollars.

Still the best standard issue room/location on the river. Just go eat
somewhere else for a bargain. Landrys still sucks for food deals.
