Help, I've been absent from vegas for 5 years, and don't know where to go !!

Hello,

I've read these forums off and on for the last 5 years, living
vicarously through all your exploits. Because of family committments,
we've been unable to go to vegas for about 5 YEARS, and I'm so
rusty :).

I've won a trip to vegas (yeah me) for 3 days, 3 nights.
If I was looking for .25 9/6 and free meals (hotel is paid for) where
would you recommend I stay? Don't need fancy, just want to be able to
find a machine when ready to play AND play together. Bounce back won't
matter as it will be a long time til next trip (still have them darn
family committments). We don't drink but are smokers (yuk, I know).

Its unlikely I can get my hubby to study any of the more complicated
games before we go in march/april, so it has to be 9/6 or he'll play
slots !!(eek). We have winpoker, so he probably can master that if I
can get him to take the time to do it.

I'd appreciate any of your sage advise as to the best place for us low
rolling, rusty players.

I look forward to actually having something to contribute here, other
than my envy !!

For what it's worth, I'd pick downtown if
I were you. Several casinos (have a look
at the VPFREE database) offer JOB at the
quarter level. A cursory glance showed
the Cal, El Co, 4 Queens, Fremont and MSS.
Availability is less of an issue downtown
since there are smaller crowds.

Also, it's more smoker friendly downtown
and you'll get dramatically cheaper rates.
There's still some changes going on locally
there based on new nonsmoking legislation.
On my last trip (Jan 1-4), there was still
a smoking section in at least one downtown
casino restaurant. None in the couple of
strip hotels I visited.

Try this consolidator, I've found them to
have some of the lowest hotel rates
available. (Remember to select hotel only
on the first page and have fun!)

Hi,

Thank so much for you reply !!

Hubby NOW says he'll play FPDW (he to really bored with 9/6 JOB).
I'll use the DB to figure out where to stay.

We live about a mile from a casino in NY, but I refuse to go. Its not
a "casino" but video slots only, and they pay..tada..92% (from the NY
State Lottery). They have video poker that we just about ended up
rolling on the floor :)..no skill, if you make a mistake you get a
bonus for that amount :)..

We went a few times when they first opened (how can you resist a
casino in casino wasteland when its right up the street?).

Hubby played $1 slot, and the computer is set so a "losing" hand
shows the same sequence.

So if I spun and lost the sequence would be 7 - nothing - cherry, 7
7 nothing nothing, then bar nothing bar and it would just repeat over
and over...we called the techs over and told them..how good is play
her if I can tell you what the next spin will be ??? They said, its
programed by computer, and it doesn't affect winning/losing :)..

Glad to be going to vegas, thats for sure ~!~
