Hello?

I was playing at Foxwoods every couple of months or so, but have switched
to Harrah's in Atlantic City. They have some decent dollar plays and have
been very generous with comps. I miss going to the Sun, but I refuse to go
back to a place that treats VP players like they do.

Is anyone there?

I drop in about once a week----there hasn't been a post since April.

I haven't been to MS in months, FW is still giving some pts on FP VP so
we've been going there.

Wonder how it's going for them at MS.

I have all the forums I belong to send all the messages via email on a daily basis. That includes VP forums plus a number of other interests. So yes, there hasn't been much activity here for quite a while.

As for playing, we've been getting treated pretty well at Foxwoods, although they've cut back a bit on FSP in the past couple of months. We go out there about once a month, and I think my play has been pretty consistent, so I'm thinking the cuts are from some policy change on their part. But since no one else has been posting, I can't be sure if that's the case or not. Unlike on the VPFree or Harrah's forums where if someone gets a mailer that been creased in the mail, 35 people rant and rave, and Bob Dancer writes a column, and then 50 people write about Bob's column, half ripping him a new one, and half kissing the boo-boo

As for the Sun, I'm getting better offers in the mail now than I did at the end when I was a Sagamore. Typically, I don't take advantage of them (never make a trip strictly for a Sun offer) - just if we're passing by when were out at Foxwoods and the offer is enough to make me want to stop and park. Or if we're on the way back from Mystic or shopping and I need to make a pit stop. The bathrooms are still being kept clean.

From what I've seen, they've just cut the number of VP machines on an ongoing basis, and nothing has changed regarding the points, or lack thereof.

You've been getting better offers than when you were Sagamore? Can you give ~$ value of sagamore days vs now?

Back in the day, we'd get tourneys, shows, gifts of >$200-$300 value.
Nowadays, Tis at best,$30-$60 FP and NO points and room can be Tough.

I suppose since FPPE still the $60 FP gives $12K action a half percent advantage. A wolf den show we want to see can make it a go.

Just back from a week in vegas. We ended up with $950FP from 4 joints (May and June offers combined).

At Southpoint got $100 cashback (.25%) which they allowed us to trade-in for $200 in Chevron cards.
That joint is FPVP heaven. Highly recommend.

When they dropped the points on the FP machines, I'd already made Sagamore for the following year. I'd been getting $100, but it dropped to $75 a week at about the same time. By the time I'd fallen to Wolf or whatever the lowest level was, it was down to $20-25 per week. When I was a Sachem (briefly, before they cut the theo by 70%) the FSP was up in the $150 category. And as you mentioned, there were the shows, gifts, free players points, extra FSP days.

Now I'm getting a mailer with SOME offer valid for every day of the month, with a minimum of $25. But you could, conceivably, string together several days' offers, which might be $25 FSP, $25 Players Points, and a $25 food credit, as opposed to the $25 weekly FSP.

Foxwoods, for the same play, on machines that would earn 0 points at the Sun, offers rooms any day, $100 in FSP, sometimes with a bonus day during the week for another $100. They also have pretty good giveaways, occasional double points, and some shows. A much better deal.

Got it! I don't clearly remember our personal MS ramp down timeline.
Eliminating the points on anything close to FP, broke the camel back.
That 3 year anniversary is coming up or is it 4 years!

I do remember hundreds of dollars every Christmas in points to buy stuff. Over $500 a couple of years but that was turn-of-the-century.

Foxwood FP offers have been $30-60 FP. That's giving them ~$30K action over 2 days. And that includes couple of thousand on Slots; in an attempt to stay under the radar. We tried giving them $60K action over 2 days ~3 years ago and the offers never got better than $60.
A few shows and fairly liberal on room Sun-Thursday.
Lost almost $10K. Cut way back on visits/action and got $8K royal.

Have been on a winning streak at the joint for 2 years. In the 90's, got no-mailed by FW because of $25K and then soon-to-follow $10K tournament wins.

FPDJ, FPPE and at the start of our gambling hobby, 25 cent FPAA. Nice!

For the last 3 years we will combine both MS and FW. Ride from MA can be done in a 200 mile loop. Not a bad ride except RI6 for 10 miles.

Break a leg.
