Hello?? No more news?

Man, no one goes to Reno anymore? I know the weather has been GOOD, so...not sure why no trip reports...
Also...anyone know what happened to "Mark_My_Words"?? I enjoyed reading his high-roller reports...
I just don't post much on here anymore, because I'm in Reno 3 days a week, and there's not much to say..LOL...
However I did hit a $1000 Club Royal last weekend at JANugget (4 card draw, hit the King)
It's been a WHIIIILE since I've hit a $1000 royal (usually I play nickle triple/five play) rather than quarter single line...
The 10/6/40 DDB are still alive & well at JANugget with .335% comp...

I've cut back on Reno simply because the casino's there have gotten greedier, and dont compete with the generous offers Vegas has been dishing out. I like Reno, but take the best offers first.
regards...Tom

I don't go to Reno because Southwest flys from Spokane to Las Vegas non-stop. Reno is at least one stop, and the fares are close to the same.

I'm sure no one will care (no major hits), but here was my recap of gambling this past Sunday! Just to let you know, I did hit a royal earlier this year and put it on the main post. I have hit three quad aces with a kicker since then. However, this has all been at the nickel level. I have been noting a lack of quads (other than the aces previously noted) that leads into my recap. . .

The quads just kept coming. . .

Well, I just called it yesterday and today it happened. Although I have
been extremely fortunate and have been hitting quad aces with the
kicker way more than expected, quads overall haven't been coming in as
expected. So, I have been thinking it was about time to really hit some
quads. I know I am nowhere near the long-term average on the machine
(haven't played enough hands), but we like to think when playing VP that
we base our results on averages.

I started today at 12:25.
Same as has been typical of late. Double Double Bonus at the nickel
level. Contemplated quarters, but just can't get back into that range.
$2.50 a hand seems like just too much. Yet, I used to play $5.00 a
hand all the time. I was in my first 50 hands, was down to about $93. and
hit quad kings, drawing two. That was at 12:36 and took me up to $118.
Good start and always fun to play on house money. Longest dry spell of
the day then ensued. At 1:04, a little over 300 hands in, I hit quad
Jacks. Again, drawing two. That took me up to $104 as I had been
losing pretty steadily.

At 1:24, quad Jacks again drawing two.
That was at approximately 450 hands. On average, one quad every 400
hands. I now had three, but not a lot to show for it. I wasn't hitting
the big payoffs, but I'll take it. That took me up to $112. I hadn't
slipped as far as last time. Not even ten minutes later, at 1:35 I hit
quad Queens, drawing three! You don't see that too often. That was
around 550 hands and took me up to $119.50. Barely below 100 when it hit
(quads for nickels are worth 500 coins or 25 dollars). At 1:44, I hit
my last quad of the day. Four tens that took me up to $131. So, that
was five quads in approximately 650 hands. I should have had one,
possibly two in that amount of hands. Man, it felt good! So many times
they just fell into place. I played a little more and was going
between $120 and $125. When it hit $120, I quit at 1:46. Up to for the
day. I would take that every time! Ended up playing about 750 hands
with five quads. What a day!

I couldn't hit any flushes all
day, unless they were dealt. Amazing how those things work. About
average for full houses, but a ton of three of a kinds. Fives seemed to
be the lucky number today. At least they seemed to come up an
inordinate amount of times! There was one situation where I did get
lucky on a flush. Actually dealt four to a royal (in spades) and had a
straight. I dropped the red queen and pulled an eight of spade for the
flush. Once the quads started coming (this was really early in the
day), flushes seemed to disappear. That is now four dealt four to a
royal and I haven't hit yet. For some reason, I think on average it is
27 hands with being dealt the four that you actually hit the royal.

Someone asked for stories, so there is mine! I really don't have to post again, but I wanted to let others know that there are people gambling here in Reno. I plan on going again this weekend. Oh yeah, I try to do recaps on my days gambling so this was pretty much meant for me, not professional VP APer's!!!!

Good luck, everyone!

In some circles that hand is known as the 'Mercy Flush.'

Unfortunately, the circle mainly consists of my brother and I.

Good to hear about your quads...
Where were you playing?

Mercy flushes add to your EV!

It's even better than two dueces when you have a straight.
You get a mercy 3OAK no matter what.

Hey TimSpeed & everybody-
I'm around & lurking on the board, haven't given up vP certainly, just nothing too inspiring to write it up. I'm down to 4 or 5 4-5 day visits to reno per year. I owe about 10 trip reports which I might just be able to recreate from my index card logs & photos. But, it'll be a few more months til i have time. Trips have been to GSR, Pepps & Silver. Altho the games at GSR are sucky (BP & DDB) I do benefit from their downloadable cash points and generous freeplay offers. Silver is now on board with downloadable token player club % and regular free play. Pepps still has freeplay & i like to check points there now.
So, yes I'll cough up numbers & stats & etc, but I'm hardly a high roller. well, maybe for reno.

thanks for calling me out!
~Mark time

A highlight of the Mark report was always to me " I'd take a cab to the Peppermill, to cash in my $400 in free play - down to my last $10 , all of a sudden ...quad fours with a deuce for $800. Cashed out and took the same taxi back downtown".
I could never figure out how you did it, since my experience was always the polar opposite, i.e. play $300 in free play, 15 minutes later its down to zero".
best of luck....Tom
