Hello from the Venetian!

Greetings, all --

We're getting close to the end of our 11-day trip -- the itinerary
we've followed is the same I posted a couple weeks ago.

Greatest surprise was the "free" highspeed Net access I found in the
Venetian when we checked in today. An RJ-45 plug is available for
your PC, or you can use a modem line to the handset if you have
older equipment.

I've been schlepping a widescreen Toshiba P25 for the last 9 days --
about the size of a small surfboard -- so I'm very glad to be able
to reach the outside world (and especially, the vpFree database)
before our departure.

Full trip report coming up soon: LVH, Rio, Sam's Town (double-ugh!),
Mirage, and here at the Venetian.

Best machines found: Terrible's. But we couldn't stay there more
than 15 minutes, because there's so much exhaled tobacco smoke it's
an alien atmosphere. Best _real_ casino for playing (and staying
alive) was the LVH. Best food and rooms at the Venetian. Worst hype
for a sucker deal: Rio -- all the shows were dark and the machines
were unplayable.

More to follow! (Return to NJ on Fri night / Sat. ... got an Andy
Lau show at the MGM tomorrow.)

But what about the Bevertainers??? You can't possibly
be implying it's not worth flying/driving/crawling 14
hours just to see THEM!

PS Merry Christmas, everyone! (Yes, that includes the
Clueless Booth Mutants at Harrah's.)

BEVETAINERS ARE THE BEST!!!! I WOULD GO TO LAS VEGAS JUST TO SEE THEM....

in case you are humor impaired, this is sarcasm. I'm a woman and even I miss
the Rio Cuties in their little costumes.

Rio has no good VP, I only go their for their shows,
I have seen the Scintas twice, with and without my
wife. Others have posted that it takes forever to get
served a "free" drink there since they went to the
Bevertainers thing. I am a married heterosexual, one
of the funniest posts I saw somewhere was someone
commented that if you were playing VP at the Orleans
and you heard a voice behind you asking if you wanted
a drink to turn around slowly that you were going to
find some magnificent cleavage right in your
face!!!
