Well the wife and I are headed to Harrah's next week. We have not been
there since I developed an interest in VP. I have been reading
Paymar's and Boyd's books and practicing with Dancer's software. I am
still pretty green but would like to know what kind of games I will
have a choice of when we go. I have read the database and am aware of
the 50cent 3-play as the only FP available. Are there any 25cent games
close to FP? Any multistrike? Thanks for any info.

Headed to Harrah's
I can't really give you a complete inventory of Harrah's VP, just not
that interested in short pay machines. I do know they have
Multi-Strike in (I believe) 5 cent. You will probably find some 25
cent machines that are only one or two coins off full pay.
I would suggest you find the best available for your bankroll and play
those, have a good time, and don't worry about them not being full
pay. You might also check out some of the progressives, they
sometimes go positive if the RF goes high enough.

Well, Carla and I have returned from out "Headed to Harrah's" trip.
We spent two nights comped, had 5 meals each free including our part
of a big meal at Moby's with 4 other friends. Carla has decided to
take up VP since, in her words, she can play for hours without losing
as much (as compared to slots).
I stuck to Deuces Wild since that is what I am most comfortable with
at this point. We played STP, 3-play, 5-play, and some 10-play for 5
cents @ 18/30/60cents a play. I got (4) deuces 3 times (for 1000
coins) and my first Natural RF. I realized after reading Paymar's
book, it is for me at least the thrill of winning the rare event that
means more than the money won. Don't get me wrong, I would have
preferred to have won it playing quarters or higher but the hand
itself was just a tremendous "rush". Giving away my age and old
habits I guess.
Overall, we ended up a little to the positive (moneywise, not
counting all the comped contribution). Carla won a $500 jackpot
getting double/double/triple with one quarter on a slot machine.
That made up for what she had lost the rest of the trip. We also
played some regular Deuces Wild machines, some Multi-Strike, and a
brief SpinPoker for the experience.
We had a great time and look forward to doing it again. I wonder if
my next will be as memorable as my first (RF)? Thanks for all the
tips and info.

Glad you did so well Bill. This weekend marks the anniversary of ONE
YEAR since I've hit a natural Royal (4-Queens Fremont ST)! Talk about
a dry spell! I've been playing DDB and DB with very VERY few exceptions.
