You have to consider that Yahoo makes a lot of money from 'cookies' and covert admission into your machine. Cookies report back to advertisers and junk mail scammers what your preferences are, where you surf the net etc. The best way to attack yahoo's invasion of your privacy is to:
1. start clean, delete all cookies.
2. in internet explorer preferences - privacy - "block all 3rd party cookies"
3. Open a "hot mail" account. Every website you visit , always check "no" for any updates, new exciting product information, etc. If you "must" give them an email addy, give them the hotmail account. This will send the spammers there, instead of your real email accounts.
These tricks go a long way to blocking the spam and pop-ups.
