Harrah's

Long and short, had you bought this stock 5 years ago you would have
doubled your money and far outperformed the NASD, DOW or S&P. I
sense they know how to run their business pretty well and their CFO
is probably a smart person. Their strategy is driven by a very good
marketing dept and it work well enough so that they are exanding.
Does not mean sophisticated grumblers -- I mean gamblers  -- will
like them.

Well said.

This Harrah's bashing has been fun and I got to vent some
frustrations. There are other casinos around that, IMHO, are far
worse. My problem is I want to like Harrah's. I enjoy going there,
like the staff, good restaruants/buffet, Diamond Club..... etc. If
they offered the same cash-back and comps as Ameristar (KC market) I
would never set foot in any other casino. But they don't and they
won't so I will. (Did that come out right?) Oh well, who cares. I'm
from Arkansas anyway.

Save half your yearly gambing bankroll and buy shares of Harrah's
stock. It's a nice hedge against the other 50% that's spent gambling.

If you go to the site casinodealers.net/ and look for their board or
forum where dealers express their opinions of us and their bosses,
you will find out that Harrah employees a little while back
dominated the complaints against management on that board.
You will also find out that many dealers do like us very much and
think we are very cheap with our tokes.

Anyway, I found it interesting.

Grew up in Corning (NE corner) graduated from HS there; graduated from
Arkansas State, Jonesboro. But I haven't lived there since... the
last 22 years in the Kansas City area.

ASU is a good school and finally getting the credit it deserves, I
have a lot of friends that graduated from there. I grew up and live
in Fort Smith. This part of the state is one of the fastest growing
places in the US now.(WalMart, Tyson land) You wouldn't believe it.
I've been meaning to sneak up to KC and play some vp, never been to
the casinos there. I always go to Vegas or Tunica.

Have a good one Rick....

Lots to see and do around the KC area plus 4 casinos. All have
playable VP except Argosy; Harrah's and Ameristar both have hotels.
We also hit Las Vegas and Tunica at least once a year. Now that we
are retired we travel in our motorhome.

Speaking of Tunica, we like the Hollywood-Harrah's-Sam's Town area.
Hollywood provides us free sites in their RV lot and several meals as
well. We are just like a couple stray dogs, as long as they keep
feeding us we just keep hanging around. Harrah's is right next door,
has some pretty good VP, and we hit the Diamond lounge for free food
and drink. Cheap living!

From there we head to the Gulf coast of Mississippi for more casino
fun and games. There we spend most of our time at Casino Magic in Bay
St Louis. They also give us free food and a space in their beautiful
RV park. VP is thin but there are a few good machines.

We still fly to Las Vegas, half the fun of Vegas is staying in fancy
hotels and eating in fancy restaurants. Hit shore do beat them there
grits and hog jowles we et back there in Arkansas.
