Harrah's Tunica Macy's Gift Card Promotion

Promotion is running through this weekend (December 17-19). I was in
town last week when it was also active. I was not planning on hitting
this promo initially as the description on their website said VP was
excluded. However when I got there I saw no restrictions on the display
posters so I inquired at the booth. They indicated there was no limit
on the number of gift cards you could earn, nor were there any machine
restrictions including VP. The cards are for $20 for every 200 points
earned, which is effectively a 1% return. I started out slow and went
back to the booth after earning a couple of cards to make sure they
would deliver on what they said. It took some time for them to process
my cards, but sure enough they coughed them up. So then I pounded away
for a few hours and walked out of there with over 40 cards at $20 each.

Best games I found were 9/6 Jacks and 8/5/35 Bonus Poker (basically 8/5
Jacks with a 35 payout for the quad). These games in the HL area are
available in $5, $10 or $25 denom. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my
way for this promo, but for Harrah's it was a reasonable play. I
suppose it carries some risk in that they might wise up and restrict the
VP players or limit the number of cards, but you can always go to the
booth every so often to make sure they are honoring the offer.

Note, not all machines in the high limit area are full pay, but there is
more than one good one. You just have to hunt around on the dozen or so
machines to find a good one. At the $5 level this promo was worth
around $100 per hour to me in EV as I consider the Macy's gift cards
similar to cash in that I can find plenty to buy there (especially with
the holidays) that would have cost me real cash anyway.

If anyone still reads this almost dead group, I hope this info may prove
useful for others who may have disregarded the opportunity.

Thanks for your valuable contribution to this group. It's no wonder
this place is totally dead and worthless. Neither the existence of this
game nor the promotion itself was hardly a state secret. Next time you
choose to post, how about adding something useful to the discussion and
maybe we'll see more than 1 message per quarter on this forum.
