Harrah's Total Rewards Visa Credit card

Got an offer from Harrah's to get a Total Rewards Platinum Plus Visa
credit card.

- No annual fee
- Introductory 0% fixed APR for cash advance checks and balance transfer
until July 2009
- Earn 2,500 Bonus Reward Credits (one time) after first transaction
- Free secure online account management-now check statements, pay bills
and do more online
- Zero liability for unauthorized credit card use
- Earn 1 Bonus Reward Credit for every $1 spent in net retail purchases

Make a purchase just once every six months (or earn 1 Reward Credit when
you play at one of our casinos), and your Reward Credits will not expire.

Is this offer any good? What's the ER?

The ER looks like 1%, assuming you can get 1c in value per RC. The
ER would increase a bit if you have no other options to keep your HET
RC's alive between trips. Personally, I'd make friends with someone
who lives near a HET property and ask them to run $10 CI thru a
machine once every six months to keep the points alive.

There's certainly better options for a credit card kickback than 1%
in the form of RC's.

You can do far better with many of the CITI cards that offer up to 5%
back on grocery, pharmacy and GASOLINE purchases. I ONLY use the card
you mention to extend the life of my Reward Credits. Maybe a $5 or $10
charge every few months if I have not played in a Harrahs casino. Other
than that, it sits in a drawer.
