The following information is based on telephone discussions I have
had with several Corporate Managers in Harrah's Total Rewards
Department:
1. Beginning January 1, 2007 NO Harrah's property will operate on
the basis of combined base credits to determine tier levels. Each
individual player will have to earn his/her own tier score. They
stress that individuals "...should not play on one player's card but
should each play on their own card" (wink wink). The effect of this
change is likely minor for most couples - simply play predominantly
on 1 person's card to achieve the highest tier level and get the
best marketing offers. The downside is that the person who does NOT
have Diamond Level (for example) status will have to be in the
company of the player who DOES have that status to get into the VIP
lounges, get the good discounts in shops, etc.
2. As a "transitional accomodation" (their words, not mine) couples
who were able to combine their tier points to achieve a certain tier
level in the past WILL be able to do so with their 2006 play. So for
2007 ONLY you both can enjoy the tier benefits earned by your
combined scores. The caveat is that you MAY have to go to a Harrah's
property that previously DID honor combined tier scores to get your
new Total Rewards Cards in 2007 with the appropriate tier
designation on the cards. That is, if you ask at Caesars Palace LV
for 2007 cards with Diamond Club designation based on COMBINED tier
scores the staff there MAY (uncertain) not be able to verify that on
THEIR computers and may have to refuse to issue those cards.
While there have been a few rumors that Harrahs will increase the #
of points needed to achieve each tier level (Platinum, Diamond, 7
Star) in 2007 every manager I have spoken to in their corporate
offices says that is untrue.
Exactly which Harrah's venues will honor combined tier scores for
tier
status? My husband and I played on separate cards at Caesar's LV
and Harrah's New
Orleans in 2006. If we could combine our total points, we would
be eligible
for 7* status.
Can you please explain further? Is there some way for us to
accomplish this
