While Harrah's has not yet published the revisions to its Total
Rewards Program effective January 1, 2007 this is what I know first
hand:
1. Beginning January 1, 2007 each PLAYER will have his/her own
individual account. The accounts will NOT be combined for
determining tier status (which some Harrah's properties allowed in
2006 and prior) or marketing offers. This change was made
to "standardize" the process in their computer systems which was
impossible when different casinos had different procedures/rules.
2. 2007 will be a "grace period" year for tier status. If you and a
spouse qualified for a tier by combining your tier scores from each
of your accounts in 2006 play, then Harrah's will honor that tier
status for 2007 (caveat: It's my impression that you will have to
get your new cards in 2007 from a Harrah's venue that has in the
past honored combined tier scores for tier status). For 2008 (and
beyond) your INDIVIDUAL tier points from 2007 will determine EACH of
your INDIVIDUAL tier status for 2008 - you might have Diamond Club
status while your spouse has Platinum or Gold.
Spouses may still combine their REWARDS points to pay for
products/services.
