Harrah's Rincon

Am considering staying here for two nights in July while visiting San
Diego. I've checked the data base and am aware of their job
offering...am more concerned with the facility. Has anyone stayed there
recently and what was your reaction. Is it close enough to San Diego to
make sense staying there?

Thanks very much for any input.

I stayed at Harrahs Rincon mid March for the second time. I stayed in
a comped standard 2 room suite. While clean, it was a bit dated and
worn...nothing special. However, I really like the staff and the
casino. It has a nice feel to it, and quite a few playable games. I
will go back again!

I flew into Orange County, so I can't say how far the drive is from
San Diego.

Harrahs frequently advertises its Rincon casino as "Harrahs San Diego
North". In fact, I'm looking at an invitation for July with a picture
of a sailboat on the bay and downtown behind it.

But in reality if you stay at Rincon, you can be as much as an
estimated 90 minutes from that specific location.

San Diego is a big city, so asking if Rincon is close enough depends
on what you want to see. North county locations like Oceanside, Del
Mar, even La Jolla are not too bad of a drive. However, Sea World,
the great zoo and downtown will require more planning so you aren't
stuck in traffic. Strategize carefully, since the savings on your
free or casino rate room can be depleted very quickly here by our
$4/gallon gasoline.

I consider it to be a very nice facility comparable to a normal Harrahs property.

The location is relatively remote but scenic and can easily be an hour from downtown San Diego (longer during rush hour).

I got a rental car from Dollar for less than $20/day. If you have an offer that includes transportation reimbursement, you can include the rental car cost for reimbursement. I understand they will not pay for cabs to/from the airport.
