Harrah's Reward Credits

I know Harrah's is infamous for lack of cashback and confusing reward
credit accounting. There reward Credits are a comination of base plus
bonus credits. For every $10 through in VP you get 1 base credit.
Earning bonus credits is not so specific. Here is one example that we
do not understand.
Yesterday two of us played a little 9/6 JoB at Harrah's Ah Chin
Casino in the Phoenix area. We both put $520 throught two seemingly
identical machines (one machine between us) out of a bank of 6 similar
machines. They both were slant top Game Kings and we each played $1
9/6 JoB. After 104 hands we both had 52 base credits (tier credits).
However, he received 92 bonus credits for a total of 144 Reward
Credits. At the same time I only received 74 bonus credits for a total
of 124 Reward Credits. Is there any explanation other than that even
identical machines with the same pay schedules can provide different
Reward Credits? Now that this has happened we will do this little
experiment again!

Thanks,
Bob

The vpFREE database for Harrah's Reno reports the following,
suggesting win/loss may have been the differentiating factor:

APR 2004

... The bonus rc's vary, depending on time of the day, day of the
week, your session win/loss, and time on machine. A long session gets
significantly more brc's than two short sessions of same total time.
