Yes, the Reno casinos continue to be generous in offering cash
mailers to attract your gambling business. If you take Harrah's in
Reno for example, the expected loss to be a Diamond member can be as
low as $500 and in as little as 1 day's play, and Harrah's will
easily give you more than $500 in "welfare checks" and other bonuses
throughout the year. Clearly the Harrah's system is broken, and I
will try to enjoy it as long as I can.>>>

Both Harrahs Reno & Lake Tahoe know it's broken & how players are taking
advantage of it but no one has tried to fix it & it will probably stay that way
as long as business continues to be siphoned off by CA. It will probably be
fixed when another bean counter takes over the top spot & initiates a top-down
review.

If Harrah's wanted to fixed the problem immediately, they could just
downgrade the paytable to 9-5 or 8-6 from 9-6, respectively (btw, I
prefer 8-6 over a 9-5 since the 8-6 requires no strategy modifications).

Just this month, I got close to $300 in welfare checks from Harrah's
and that puts me, on a year-to-date basis, way head of my expected
loss; for the record, I am in the black due to an ealier Royal Flush.
