Harrah's properties in Vegas eliminating cashback??? others???

The "Cash in the Mailbox" that I have received in the last year, or so, is totally insignificant (much less than 1/10th of 1%). Perhaps Harrah's has decided to replace it with something that is designed to bring you back, such as, substantial "free play".

I was at Paris today and was told at Total Rewards club that as of May 1
there will no longer be "cash in the mailbox" cashback. I don't know if this
affects properties other than Vegas or not. I asked a couple of hosts and they
hadn't heard of this. TR person told me they will replace it with
"something" - that a lot of people didn't know they had Cash in the Mailbox - but this
doesn't make a lot of sense. She didn't know what the replacement would be
(or really would there be one).

So ???

Meanwhile a suggestion - it is a good idea to ask at the Total Rewards club
if you have any uncashed "cash in the mailbox' for the last 6 months. Almost
every time we check, we find some uncashed money, and they will fill out a
voucher for it. We've probably gotten over $500 in lost checks this way.
------------ -

Another suggestion - write to Harrah's President Gary Loveman and complain
_talktogary@ harrahs.com_ (mailto:talktogary@harrahs. com)
!!
------------ ----
A side note - went to Paris Diamond club today - found various spreads such
as wild mushroom, olive, onion, hard-as-a-rock pita bread, potato chips,
breadsticks, weird rice crackers, and some deserts.

I was told 1 or 2 hot dishes are served 4-6pm. Paris club seems to have
same hours as Harrahs Vegas - open 12-9 Fri and Sat., 4-9 rest of week.

Number of people at Diamond clubs seems a lot smaller to me. I'm sure
servers are getting fewer tips.

A host said they are getting complaints, but Total Rewards personnel seemed
unaware of any complaints or even of changes.

All this uproar over the elimination of cash from the LV HET
properties has me scratching my head. We're talking a microscopic
amount, about 0.07% in my past experience. But the real issue is
what games were even worth playing at HET LV properties the past
several months? When they slashed the theos from ~5% to less than 1%
the Jacks became a no play because you couldn't generate any mail
that was worth anything.

Exactly..but with people still playing there, why would they improve
their inventory/theo?

Harrah's is a piece of garbage and I don't understand why people play
there. It's really a shame that they took over some class hotels and
turned them into classless buildings.

They (HET) are the perfect example of corporate greed. I put them
right below the oil companies. Ironic isn't it that Congress allowed
both of these corporate entities to merge and keep on merging. It
didn't take a brainchild to figure out it was going to cost the public
in the long run. I personally am on strike against any Harrah's
property and won' give them any of my business. I suggest you do the
same.

Anyone one that walks into their property to play...or even
eat....should have the word "SUCKER" tatooed to their forehead.
